    Re: constipation

    Hi Rad,
    Congradulations on your pregnancy...
Its quite normal for few ladies to get constipated during pregnancy...
My friend and co-sister had the same issue

i would kindly advise you to visit the doctor and get their consultations...in fact they themselevs would give you natural remedy...but 1 thing i have heard is that for few people,if you avoid apples, constipation would not happen...
dont worry....this would not affect your baby....immediately get consulation from your doc
    All the best

    Hi rad!
    Congrats on your pregnancy!
Constipation is extremely common in pregnancy!
Take Jeera water once or twice a day to get rid of constipation. It worked for me.
My doc suggested me Duphalac syrup for constipation. Its safe to take during preg..u can chek with your gynaec , he/she will suggest you some stool softener.

    Re: bad constipation-need help

    Dear,
The best constipation natural remedies are:
    1. Okra - very good during pregnancy and any time
    2. Prunes - either in the form of juice - 1 glass or just as a fruit (if you have GD don't worry this doesn't increase your sugar level)
    3. fruits like - organic apple, pears, guava - very good even if you have GD
    4. water - minimum of 64 oz throughtout the day. (during pregnancy you take lot of protein & fiber. both needs lots of water)
    5. rasam is good for easing the constipation

if you follow this every day during your pregnancy no constipation problem. I followed this diet and was very successful.

    Good luck.

Try to include fruits rich in fibre such as orange..Don't take orange as juice.Instead eat it.Also, drink lot of water...Try drinking two glasses of water early in the morning...This helps to relieve from constipation.

Switch to brown bread and whole wheat chapattis.
Include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet.
Start your day with a glass of warm water and a tsp of honey.
Try to drink a glass of water every hour, atleast 8 to 10 glasses a day.
Avoid using stimulant laxatives as they purge your system, but you are likely to suffer again.
    Take good care.

    Re: bad constipation-need help

Adding ground flax seed to a meal (one spoon or so a day) really helped me. A little too much after several days, and I cut back. But never had constipation again despite 2 iron supplements plus iron containing prenatal vitamin a day.

Re: Having Constipation in 7th week

    Hello All,

I have read all the posts on this topic. Im glad to see people helping and Im desperate for your help.
The reason I have to got through was I had constipation and Im 4 weeks(probably) pregnant(from scan).
My constipation was different from wat indu mentioned.
I used to suffer from less bowel movement about 3 years ago but never had problem of not going to toilet for days.
I did water therapy by drinking 1lt. of water in the morning and 'm following the same even now.

My problem now was.. form the moment I doubted Im pregnant, I had more bowel moment and never had constipation symptoms. But had lot of abdominal pain. My doctor suggested for a pelvis scan just to make sure that I didn't have ectopic pregnancy. Scan reports said I had stools inside and the pain is from constipation (for which I was shocked). My doctor suggested to take coloxyl for week.

Im having sever pain in my abdomen and going to toilet is relieving me from pain.

Im worried whats going to happen.
Guys sorry to bother you by writing long story. But please help me.

Do you think taking coloxyl for 2 days will solve my problem..?

    Im worried .. please help.

    Thank you.
