Got bored of sambar and chutney with idly... Here is an alternate side dish...

    Ingredients:
    To be Grinded:
    1. Half coconut
    2. 4-6 green chilly
    3. 1 cardamom
    4. 2 cloves
    5. 1 piece of cinnamon
    6. 1 hand fried gram(pottukadalai)
    7. 4 garlic
    8. 1 small piece of ginger
    9. 1 tsp Fennel seeds
Fry and grind all the above listed ingredients.

    9. Onion -2
    10. Tomato -2
    11. potato-5

Cook the potato and smash it.
Take a pan and pour oil to saute.
Put 1 cardamom, 2 cloves, 1 piece cinnamon and fry it.
Put the onion and saute it well till it becomes pale.
Put Tomato and fry it till it becomes juicy.
    Now add the above masala.
Fry it and add water to it.
    Add salt to taste.
    Wait till the water boils.
Now add the smashed potato to it.
Let the potato get the taste of the masala.
Make the flame slow and wait till the potato is completely into masala. Before taking it from the flame make sure the kurma is watery other wise add water and boil it again.
    Now your kurma is ready.
Serve it hot with IDLY or DOSA..:thumbsup

    PS:
    1. Fry the ingredients of the masala before grinding. Do not over fry them
    2. The kurma should not be very thick when it is removed from flame.
    3. Add limited spice.
