How to make Uzhundhu vadas crispy? Hi, Yesterday I bought some crispy Uzhundhu vadas from a nearby hotel. When I tried making the same at home, it wasn’t that crispy. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make it crispy? regards Anasuya
Anasuya, at first I too wondered how those people are making such crispy vadas. A friend of mine has a hotel and she disclosed the secret…………J Together with all the ingredients for Uzhundhu vada, add little rava, which makes it crispy. Diya
Thanks a lot, Diya. That was a good information. I will try it today itself. Can rava be used in something else so as to make them crispy? cheers Vidhya
I too have heard that adding rava makes food crispy. I tried out the same in the poori. To my surprise, poori was so yummy, crispy and had a different taste. Try out adding rava in poori too. love n regards neha
How to reduce the effect of salt in foods? Hi, I have a habit of accidentally putting excess salt in most of the dishes. My husband always scolds me for this. Is there any method by which I can reduce the effect of salt? janet
Janet, one thing I wish to advice you first is “ be attentive while cooking” Then everything will go fine. My mother used to add potatoes or tomatoes when there is excess salt in curries. This will surely reduce the effect of salt luv reeba
I too agree with Reeba because prevention is better I have another idea. ......here it goes Add round balls of atta (which we make for chappathi) in the curries and boil it. This too will reduce saltiness. sonali
Try this one too…… This is certainly an effective method … Wrap some boiled rice in a cotton cloth. Put it in the curry and then boil it. Take it back before serving the dish. megha
