    [JUSTIFY]I just viewed this thread today. A very nice one. In my household there are some songs sung to the children in folk lure....I would love to share it here

    1) Veragu araikarathum
    amma vandhu nikarathum
    soru kothikarathum
    sukkan kutharathum
    pilla azarathum (we have to act like weeping and the child is taught to wipe the tears)
    ush..pesathe engarathum
    vaa engarathum....
    varamaten engarathum
    po engarathum
    malluku nikarathum... ( all these lines have appropriate hand gesture, which the child ll also learn)

    2) Chinna pon apadiyan..seemanam
    chipilikottaiku ponanam

    gundan chettila vennira potu
    kumukunu kulidi china pene.....

    4) this is sung having the child in your foot and rise and down the child as though the baby is in a swing

    5) this is taught when the child start holding both the hands above its head

    Very nice . We should create a collection of these type of rare songs .

    SM sir,

    Right from the day my DD was born have been singing songs to put her to sleep...Now it has become more of a habit that without my singing she wont sleep.

    The songs that I sing to her is:

    1. Jo achyuthananda Jo Jo Mukunda
    2. Kurai Ondrum illai marai moorthi kanna
    3. Nila kaaigirathu (filmi song)..

    and the list goes on
