    Mrs. Chith,
I could not find the recipe for the "Pudhina Lemon drink" which you served us during the ilite meet in Aug. My children loved that one.
can you let me know where to find it?
    Thanks
    Sriniketan

    Dear Haritha,
    I have already posted it.
    Please click on
    Recipe Index
Go to the second page. It is given under desserts. Click on the title & a window with the recipe will open.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Bhargavi,
    It was my "concoction" !
Follow the recipe for the lemon squash I have given. I boiled water & added pudina leaves, switched off & left it covered for a few hrs. Then I strained & used that flavoured water for making the juice !:-D
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Nice idea, Chith.
I think the pudhina flavour should be less which means i can add mint leaves only little, right?

    Dear Bhargavi,
Since we switch off as soon as the leaves are added, the aroma won't be too strong. 1 cup of (unchopped) leaves per litre is right. Or pinch with hand - do not chop ever pudina with knife !
    Love,
    Chith.

    Dear Chithra,
A few doubts on Navrathri :
When actually is first day of Navrathri ? As amavasai is [tomorrow] on 10th. Wed -- the first day is 11th. thurs. or 12th. Fri ?

I firmly believe that if we keep kalasam, then we must do the golu every year. But if we're not keeping real kalasam [ only the bommai one], must we keep golu every year ?

Must we call some sumangali and give vethalai paaku ; what if we do not know anybody / any Indian even --- then can we offer a thaamboolam to the Goddess in the temple itself ?? What to do in such cases ?

Just now saw your 'nava' links section. So nice of you to work up this combo for us. But my doubt for long time is there any particular grain [for sundal] or sweet or any appropriate item in particular for each of the Goddess ? Like for Shiva it is milk ; for Shani it is ellu , like that any apt items which MUST be made for the devis ?

    :wave Thanks and regards.

    Dear Kurunji Malare,
Tomorrow is (10 th) Amavasai & you just start keeping the kolu.
But 1 st day is only on 12th fri. 20 th is durgashtami.
If you keep the kalasam, you can continue keeping just that in the puja shelf, without keeping an elaborate kolu. I think, once started, the kalasam is best continued.
If you cannot invite anybody at all, do not bother. Do it manasikam & keep in puja sannadhi.
I will give a list of the most apt naivedyams today - Ihave a list. It is not a MUST at all, but optional.
    Love,
    Chithra.
