My dear Chithra, Thank you very much for the tip of freezing parathas, I shall made a note of it. Thanks and regards Priya
Hi Mrs.Chithra, Hope everything is fine at your end. Has been a while since tried your NEW recipes. Anyways, tonight, made khara oothappam. Amazing color with a different taste. As someone has said, no signs of dhals. And, for sankatahara chathurthi, made churma laddu. Yummy and healthy sweet; apt one for navarathiri. Like you said for maavilakku, ground jaggery with flours. Can we grind the coconut as we dont want to feel while eating? Thanks and good day.
Dear Chithra Ma'm, Yesterday for breakfast made Rayar sambar(onion + coriander) to go with idli.Very easy to make from our regular sambar and ideal for people who won't eat tiffin sambar for lunch & vice-versa.As DH does not prefer tomatoes it is very ideal for me to make this for tiffin. For DD's evening snack made Chana Sundal & Sharja.DD is a sundal priyai & she wanted sundal with the tempering you have given for chana sundal & not coconut, chilli etc.She loved her snack & I'm happy that it is very healthy.Thank you. Love, Damini.
Dear Rama, Thanks. I am sad, the 'khara' series is over! :-( That has attracted quite a few!! Normally the Gujarathi /rajasthani churma laddu is 'loaded' with ghee. But this is so healthy & tasty!! I added fine desiccated coconut. So, V could'nt find out at all - he also is not very fond of chewing coc in laddus. Yes, you can grind it also. Thaks for this FB!! Love, C
Dear Damini, Thanks. I remeber one ILite having asked for rayar sambar. But I wonder whether she tried it at all!! It is good with both rice & tiffin.:thumbsup Please encourage your DD's sundal interest.. Best way to include protein everyday. Love, C.
Dear Bunny, Thanks so much for enquiring about amma. She is still very unwell & the advancement of medical facilities is keeping her going. My late father was a doctor & was the founder of TVS hospital. So, she is getting very good care & attention though that cannot alleviate her suffering. Every phone call sends a shiver through me! But she has lived a full life & at peace with herself. Love, C.
Chithramma, I read your reply and I really love the 'FB demand' Tomo my sis and BIL are visiting us, they are newly married and i am jittery already, about the virundhu :hide: Menu,I have shortlisted: Breakfast: I have bought store brought idiyappam mix, i am going to make idiyappams, steamed, with coconut milk, I have puliyogare powder made by my aunt, can i make a portion as puliyogare-sevai with this podi? Dont hit me, if this idea sounds bad Also, lemon sevai. Anyways, i have idli batter,i have made your tomato chutney and thats in fridge ready, so i can make dosai's too. Anything missing? Lunch: Drumstick Araichi vitta sambar Vathakulambu Keerai kootu (they dont eat greens at all nowadays, so thought will makeit healthy) Milagu rasam Carrot Raitha Any 2 veggie poriyal (have to go shop, i am somewhat good in making poriyal, DH says so) Potato fry (my sis a great fan of potatos) Curd Appalam (I have a doubt in your MWing, should we smear oil on only one side or both? ) Payasam - I need easy suggestions, dates kheer would sound great? Served chill in bowls? Vadai - Parupu vadai - i need suggestions. Should i make something else too? THe vurinthu will be in vazhai elai. Awaiting your response I will sure make my sis write FBs here, tomo
