Re: Hair Straightening : Bad for hair?

There are side effects and negative impacts of using hair straighter as well as any other treatments like hair color, highlights, blow dry, perms, chemical usage, etc. However, that’s not to say that you shouldn’t use ‘em at all. If done correctly and not too frequently while following a good hair care routine (massaging oil, applying henna, washing your hair with aritha), you should be fine.

When using the straighter, don’t forget to use some heat protectant on your hair.
Also, if you experience dryness in your hair after straightening them, use biosilk (don’t put any on your scalp just your hair…otherwise hair will look oily) or when washing your hair use a deep conditioner.

Re: Hair Straightening : Bad for hair?

    Sushmail,

Apply biosilk when your hair is damp. Then let the hair air/blow dry. Never straighten hair when they are wet...otherwise the iron will basically boil your hair...which can cause permanent damage.

If you want some extra shine in your hair, you can apply just a little bit after straightening your hair. Again, don't get it on your scalp or it will look greasy and oily.

    Hope this helps!

    Flat irons!

    Hi,

I am thinking of stightening my hair. So anyone please suggest me some good ceramic flat irons.

I heard about CHI, babyliss,GHD and sedu , herstyler brand names.........I did my research on this products but couldn't make the final decision.

If anyone of you using this products, tell me the pros and cons of each product. Such that I can make up my mind on one product.

One of my friend told me that she has been using GHD for long time but the price of the product is $200. For that, please give me your valuble advice then I can decide on which one to buy not depending on money......... After all, hair is more importent than money right? Is it really?

    Thanks for the advice.
    Srilak.
