Dear friend, first tell us which machine you are having manual or electric? first try to move the emb frame in a uniform speed you have to remove the pressure foot , in mchine emb fixing the cloth inthe frame is different from hand emb,try to practice first the sraight lines then slowly go for curved lines, initially you may break few needles dont worry with few hours of pracice you will get the stability in moving the frame, care should be taken while pracicing otherwise needle will pierce your fingers:crazy,

Re: Which is cheap and best?

I don't recommend using cheap thread at all! I was using DOLI thread from Coats and Clark, and it kept ripping, shredding, and jamming up my machine. There is no repair place here, so I had to take my machine to the US, and pay $200 to have the loose threads removed, timing fixed, etc.

Now, I use Madeira. It is expensive, but so is your machine!

    Re: methods to know?

Dear friend righty check with your fingers , with your thumb and fore finger hit the cloth if you get a sound similar to the sound [drum hitting] then it says cloth is well fitted.
