    Hi

I am hasini . I am 19 weeks pregnant. My due date is Feb 1st.

I have a question? While sleeping can we sleep straight for whole night.I am unable to sleep one side. Is this right. Many people are saying you should not sleep straight.

    can any body tell us.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi hasini
Best position to sleep during pregnancy is on your left side. That way blood circulation is best for you and baby. When you sleep on your back, your uterus puts pressure on a big vein which carries blood from your lower body to your heart . So you may feel dizziness and reduced circulation.

That being said I had no idea about all this during my first pregnancy. Used to sleep on my back all the time and still had a healthy baby . Even now it is hard for me to stay on one side all night long so I keep tossing and turning. Dont think it is that big a deal :hide:

Hasini, its very uncomfortable to sleep in any direction.I am using cushion between the legs, probably you can also try using cushion btw the legs when you sleep on sides.

    Hi Hasini,

Welcome to Feb 2011 Club:thumbsup My due date is also Feb 1st:)

Hope everything is going well with you..

While sleeping, better you can sleep on your left side and have supporting pillows for your knees and back and even if you find yourselves on your back in the middle of night, don't get scared... Just change to your left.. Initially it will be difficult and if you're used it it would be helpful during the last months..

Sleeping on back would compress the Inferior vena cava and might distrupts the blood flow... So better avoid sleeping on back for long hours

Do step in often and share your progress....

    Regards,
    Uma

    Dear All,

    How are you doing?
I'm doing fine! No specific updates from me.

P&B, I have recovered well from the Cerclage and have started work now. Thanks for the get well wishes.

Had anomaly scan done. Growth is on track, nothing to worry, except, you might have read about the finding on echogenic bowel. Hopefully it will be cleared in next scan.

Other than that, trying to eat healthy, taking rest and enjoying.. thinking positive.

Did your EDD change from what was told during u'r early first trimester scan? Which one should we consider? When I read through some information, they said that this date should be considered as reference.

My anomaly scan is next week on Oct 5. I am just too anxious and hoping everything goes well. Will post after the scan.
