i had an HSG and it is was all normal ..so we are planning for an IUI
my question is what are the tests necessary to go for the IUI ??

    Hi Baby Doll,
Welcome to Indus Ladies & to this forum. You can find our forum guidelines here...

Your age doesn't seems to be bad for TTC. I don't have much idea about testosterone. Let me try to answer your questions.
    > what are the tests necessary to go for the IUI ??
Tests to whom? For you, basic tests like blood tests on hormone & HSG, you have completed them i hope. For him, hormone analysis & semen analysis. Your follicle growth will get monitored for the cycle in which IUI is scheduled. If everything is fine, IUI wil get scheduled.

    > approximately when will the actual insemination be possibly scheduled ??
Insemination will get scheduled based on your follicle growth, mostly after CD12. When you get matured follicle(s), IUI will get scheduled.

what are the chances of success??
IUI increases chances of conception compared to the natural try. People say it increases upto 30% if SA is good. It depends on the quality sperm & egg!

Hope you succeed in your very first attempt.
    Baby dust to you.

I guess CD represents cycle day.. so CD12 is Cycle day 12..

Ya, Its cycle day. 12th day from your periods. First day of periods is CD1, that is where your new cycle starts!

    Hi babyDoll,

This is what I got to know from my Urologist & Primary Care Physician.

First we took the semen analysis for my husband. everything seems good.
and again the Urologist took a blood test and in those test every other things seems good but testosterone was little bit low.(bcoz he hurried from the office to take the test in hot afternoon).

But after those test what I learnt was testosterone blood test should be done only in the morning. So we repeated the blood test and now the result was good.

But again the Urologist recomended to the Primary care Physician to take thyroid test. In those TSH was little bit high. It is called subclinical Hypothyrodism.

But again the doctor took another blood test to confirm if there is subclinical hypothyrodism to my husband and in those test it showed that there is no subclinical hypothyrodism for my husband & we r so revealed.

the doc told us that if u try to treat subclinical there is a chance that it could change to hyperthyrodism so only he took various blood test to confirm. The good part is with everything we identified a good supportive doctor.

so I suggest u take thyroid test for ur husband then decide on something and if his semen is good u dont need to worry. then go with the doctors decision

Banana increases testosterone in men & women.

    Baby dust to u!

    tc
    Cheers!

It could be dye or the blood shed because of the procedure. Mild bleeding or spotting after HSG for a day or two is normal. If its more bleeding, check with your gynec.
    Take care.

    Hi babyDoll,

the testosterone level plays the role with sperm count. if testosterone is low then there is a chance that the sperm count may be low.

u r telling that T levels are low. So then first visit the thyroid specialist in ur place and identify whether he has hypo or hyper or its only subclinical.
then accordingly the doctors will make ur husband in medication. If thyroid is treated properly then ur husbands testosterone will increase.

then ask him to take proper breakfast. and with small changes in food habit also ur husbands testosterone level will increase. but it has nothing to do with conception. tetsosterone just palys a role in the sex drive. So u dont need to worry.

First go with this then u can decide on whether to go with IUI or not. bcoz u have very good chances of natural conception.

    Cheers
    Aana
