Thanks Krishnamma for your effort in putting those pictures. I shall ask my mom to buy the same brand and I shall get it when I go over there.
I am still in doubt that with 'open coils' is it possible to keep on it. the coils don't have covers. If you keep anything it has to be kept on the coils directly.
    clear this doubt, please.

    Hi Kuruji,

We live in London. Most of the houses here are fitted with electric stoves. So, this is from my experience. For electric stove it will take sometime to heat-up after you switch it ON. Also there will some heat remaining even after you switch it OFF. So, the golden rule here is that you have to give sometime after you switch ON the stove and before starting the cooking so that it will be hot enough(that way dosas will be crispy) and if you are making any curry, you have switch OFF the stove few minutes before the curry gets done as there will be some heat remaining(so that you curry dont burn).

    Hope this helps.

    Regards
    Bujji:2thumbsup:

I had got the Appa Karal from Chennai. We had made use of it twice already.
I got my parents to get it as they are here for a visit.

Thanks Krishnamma for giving me the details and Sunitha for encouraging me not to worry about the open coils.
