    i am posting a pattern of a sweater ...
    level : intermediate

    read through , and please let me know if its easy ..
    i dont want to get stuck anywhere in the middle and stop .
    also i want to make this little larger for my 3 1/2 yr old dd .

    GAUGE

    In stitch pattern, using H-8 (5 mm) hook, 14 sts and 20 rows = 4"/10 cm.

    STITCHES USED

    Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (slip st)

    SPECIAL TERMS

    sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together – Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, (2 loops on hook), insert hook
    in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
    long-sc: Long single crochet – Insert hook in st 3 rows below indicated st, yarn over, pull up a loop to level of work, yarn
    over and draw through 2 loops on hook.

    STITCH AND COLOR PATTERN (multiple of 4 sts + 3 (5, 3, 5))
    Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each remaining ch across, turn.

    Shape Armholes

    Row 2: Ch 1, sc2tog, work in Stitch Pattern across to last 2 sc, sc2tog, turn—29 (31, 33, 35) sts.
    Continue even in Stitch Pattern until armhole measures 4 (4, 4 1/2, 4 3/4)"/10 (10, 11.5, 12) cm from beginning of armhole
    shaping.

    Shape First Shoulder

    Row 1: Ch 1, work in Stitch Pattern over first 5 (5, 5, 6) sts sc2tog; leave remaining sts unworked (for neck and second
    shoulder), turn—6 (6, 6, 7) sts.
    Continue even in Stitch Pattern until piece measures 11 3/4 (12, 12 1/2, 13 1/2)"/30 (30.5, 32, 34.5) cm from beginning.
    Fasten off.

    Shape Second Shoulder
    Skip 15 (17, 19, 19) unworked sts following first shoulder; join yarn with slip st in next st.

    Shape Sleeve Cap
    Row 1 (decrease row): Ch 1, sc2tog, work in Stitch Pattern across to last 2 sts, sc2tog, turn—31 (33, 35, 37) sts.
    Row 2: Work in Stitch Pattern across.
    Rows 3–8 (10, 12, 12): Repeat last 2 rows 3 (4, 5, 5) more times—25 (25, 25, 27) sts.
    Fasten off.

    FINISHING
    Using sewing needle and coordinating thread, sew buttons to top of Back shoulder piece opposite Front buttonholes. Button
    Front and Back together. Set in sleeves, taking care to sew through both thicknesses (Front and Back) at top of shoulder.
    Sew sleeve and side seams.
    Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.

    hai rachel in this pattern i didnot get the 3 (5, 3, 5)) brackets.yesterday i try another pattern in natural caron site but stopped when a bracket comes.so you search another pattern we will make it.sandhya

    hope i am in the correct link.i am nityakalyani.thanks for this step by step instructions. i do have book with me a huge volume one but was not able to get the hang of it.finally toget i got the correct instructions.:bonk.i am used to knitting patterns and not able to understand crochet patterns.can you give a step by step instructions to do a piece of small towels so that i can give it to my loved ones. will wait for your instructions.kalyani

    (multiple of 4 sts + 3 (5, 3, 5))


    this is the one you are talking about , isnt it ?

    i didnot understand how to work multiple of 4 stitches + 3

    3(5 ,3 ,5 ) means
    3 for 6 months
    5 for 12 months
    3 for 18 months and
    5 for 24 months

    am i right ??
