generally with PCOS pepole tend to have typeII diabetic (i.e. insuline resistance)

To find out glucose resistance doctor might ask you take glucose test

how did doctor decided its PCOS? did she found cysts on ovaray?

I accept the facts told by Kinjal. If PCOS not treated, will lead to typeII diabetics & soon will turn to diabetics!
Insulin resistance is one messure with tells your body condition towards diabetics... Most gynecs asks for glucose tolerance test to those have PCOS.

Meet your gynec again if you are not able to succeed in TTC after few cycle attempts. She may order for another ultra sound to know the current position & if required she may prescribe you tablets for it!

    Maintain your weight too!
    Baby dust to you...

    Hi,
I also have PCOS more than 3 years. I am taking Metformin which has helped me regularise my periods and weight is under control. I am trying to conceive but unsuccessful till now. What I found from the Internet is that there is medical cure for PCOS but it can be controlled with proper diet and Exercise. Pranayama like Bhastrika, Analom-Vilom and Kapalbhati are helpful in weight loss and balancing the doshas and hormonal imbalance in our body but should be done under proper guidance and regularly. Bhastrika and Kapalbhati should be avoided in Pregnancy.

There is remedy by Dr. Pankaj Naram and Smitha Naram
    Ayurveda: hormonal imbalance

But it is better to consult a proper ayurvedic doctor.

A home remedy suggested by them in a show Yoga4u in Zee TV is as below
    1tsp Jeera powder
    1/4 tsp Ajwain powder
    1 pinch of Hing
    1/2 tsp Black Salt
    1 tsp Gokshur powder(optional)

Mix them in 1/2 glass of lukewarm/slightly warm water.
This should be taken 3-4 times a day.

Foods to avoid are Read meat, Oily fried food, processed food, White Rice, Wheat, Yoghurt.

Other thing I read about Fenugreek seeds is that though it is beneficial in lowering the Blood sugar level and helpful in PCOS, it should be avoid in case of pregnancy as it may cause uterine stimulation.

    HI!

I brought some fenugreek seeds on tuesday. Strated taking 1 tablespoon in the morning and 1 in the evening. Guess what, I started my periods today! This is the best remedy that i've come across. I've also been excersing half an hour a day and drinking 2 cups of green tea. The last time i had a period was in may.

Swallow it! You can't chew it i suppose. You can try to take soaked water too!
I am not sure which helps whether the diet or the other things, it all helps me to maintain my weight! Not gain!

    hi all,

I too diagnosized with PCOS and RE gave me prometrium 200mg(progestrone) for 7 days and have to take blood test on CD3..Does anybody here with that blood test done?I am not sure for what purpose this blood is going to be done..Any ideas?..I was not in a mood ( sad due to PCOS diagnosis )to ask the nurse ..

I read in above post about avoiding rice, noodles and chapathi..As I am only 19.4 BMI avoiding these foods make me soo thin..But I will try to reduce the intake. Will that be okay?
