How often buy dress / sarees????

    Hi iLites

    So how many of you bought / plan to buy thru Aadi Sale this year in Chennai?

    All iLites, how often you all buy dress materials / sarees? Is it a planned purchase or buy when you see thru window shopping other than specific occasions like Diwali, Bday, Wedd anniversary etc? If planned one, how you decide on the shops / material / area etc and the price range?

    If it is dress, you all buy ready made/ semi-stitched / material / mix n match? If material / mix n match how you decide on the styling reg. neck / churidhar or salwar?

    Please put in your views / ideas if any...........

    I stopped buying any dress for myself twenty or more years back. Stooped wearing new clothes for deepavali and such equally long back.Whatever new dress I have are all gifts.

    In my family we do not celebrate events like shashtiabdhapoorthi for anyone either. So it is an even course.

    Thanks for your first fb. I am surprised to note that you stopped buying new clothes for 20 years now and you dont buy either for Diwali or celebrate Sashtiabha poorthy.

    Anyways nice to know.

    I usually dont plan my shopping. Whenever I find something gud I buy it. Almost every weekend :yes: I end up in buying 1 or 2.
    When I go to India once in a year I buy salwars for all spl occasions (Bday/Anniv/Diwali). I prefer Readymades (fits me well). In Mix and Match I go for short/long kurtis with leggings/pattiyala.

    Our family has been rather casual about religion for many generations. I am one of the youngest of my generation at 71. However, I do not remember any shashtipoorthi in my family.

    As one gets older externals like looks and dress begin to lose their grip. One tends to turn inward.

    I do a lot of window shopping :)

    I buy dresses once in 3 months.. one by one..
