Useful info for expecting moms...

    1. Start off regular doses of Folic Acid

    2. Keep your body in shape with regular exercise

    3. Go on that last girly holiday

    4. Go on that last on-on-one romantic holiday with your partner

    5. Nibble on loads of nuts and cheese – great sources of protein and dairy

    6. Replace wine with grape juice – same family but different effects!

    7. Maintain a Pregnancy journal to capture moments that won’t come back

    8. Sleep loads – you won’t get the time very soon!

    9. Bond with family and friends

    10. Get a massage at least once a week – but from someone who is a trained professional

    11. Get hubby to paint your toes – take advantage while you can!

    12. Catch up on family history – you should know as you are carrying the future

    13. Keep an eye on regular checkups
    14. Make sure you get a video copy of your ultrasound scans

    15. Do yoga

    16. Take belly dancing classes – great for you and for baby

    17. Swim regularly - it gets your blood circulating and it keeps you fit

    18. Take pregnancy portraits – it’s a time to cherish and remember

    19. Eat small meals every two hours – helps avoid indigestion

    20. Stay positive – your baby feels your vibes

    21. Talk to your baby

    22. Get your partner to talk to your baby – they remember the voice

    23. Leafy greens are a great source of protein so load up on them

    24. Think about names from the beginning – loads of time
    to sort out disagreements with your hubby about them

    25. Make your boundaries clear with family and friends when it comes to advice

    1. Indulge in your favourite hobby or pastime - Spend time doing things you enjoy. Read a book, listen to music, join a painting or yoga & meditation class or simply meet friends and enjoy their company.

    2. Pamper yourself- Go to a spa for a relaxing and therapeutic body massage. Very soon, it’s going to be just your baby who’ll be enjoying these massages everyday!

    3. Go for regular pedicures - With your growing belly, very soon you will be barely able to see your feet and give them the required attention. So now is the time to focus on them. It might be just what you need after being up on your feet all day, carrying that extra weight!

    4. Have a makeover - The rate, at which you expand in pregnancy, can leave you depressed and disinterested in dressing up. So draw attention to your face by sporting a new, no-fuss haircut. Try new shades of make-up. Paint your nails to add a flash of colour to your appearance. Use fancy accessories to enhance your look. These small changes will not only give you a new look, but would also keep you self-motivated.

    5. Have fun with ‘retail therapy’- Don’t put off shopping for maternity wear and accessories till the last trimester. Not all maternity clothes are dull and drab. Nowadays, many designers have come up with special maternity clothing lines which are functional yet smart and chic. So go on, enjoy shopping for this new phase of your life.

    6. Go for a romantic, ‘baby-free’ holiday with your husband, even if all that you can manage is a weekend. Trust us, it will never be the same again once your baby comes along. So enjoy each other’s exclusive company, go for walks together, laze around the beach, dress up for a candle light dinner…anything. Just soak in the leisure time that you have with each other-NOW!

    7. Make love- Don’t give in to myths about dangers of sex during pregnancy unless of course, your doctor has specified it. It may take some effort and creativity, but it will be well-worth it! Once the baby arrives, you’ll be more inclined towards catching some sleep rather than sex!

    8. Get a photo-shoot during pregnancy! It will be fun to pose with your over-grown belly and imagine the fun you can all have sharing those photos with your child when they grow up. You can even make an album of yourself in every trimester as a lovely keepsake of your pregnancy.

    9. If you are a movie enthusiast, go to the theatre to watch movies every now and then. It may be quite a while before you can start taking your baby along to the theatres or even leaving them behind. So make the most of it now!

    10. Sleep - Yes, you got it right! Enjoy sleeping late on weekends and take naps during the day if you can. Once the baby arrives, you will not get a good night’s sleep for a long -long time.
