    Hi Ladies,
This is my compilation of various names of Flaxseed,

    English : Flaxseed, Linseed
    Kannada : Agasi
    Telugu : Avise Ginjalu
    Tamil : Ali vidai
    Malayalam : Cheruchanavitha
    Marathi : Alashi, jawas
    Bengali : Pesi
Hindi, Gujarathi & Punjabi : Alsi

This seed is widely grown in North Karnataka, Maharashtra & North India where it comes cheaper than at Super Market If you happen to go to any of these place buy them in bulk as it can be stored for long time powder and use it. actually I prepare chatni powder from it. We toast it on low flame so that it gives out its oil and add garlic, cumin seeds chilli pwd and salt make it in small batches as it will lose oil rapidly and use it with curds for chapathi, bread or rice it taste great

    Hi Prem,
    Thanks for sharing this.
I use golden flex seed on a daily basis. I use it in just about anything I cook from mixing it in my Yoplait yogurts to pakora mix to sabjees. The cold milled flexseed is better since it doesn't lose the nutritional value while processing.
You can buy it in bulk and grind it at home using a coffee grinder.
    Very good for overall health.

    Thanks,
    Oopall.
