One more great artist who has given a beautiful visuals for kalki's descriptions is "Silpi" and afew years back ( 10 years ) Kalki magazine had Ponniyinselvan released again in episodes every week.

One Student and follower of "Silpi" by name "Padmavasan" used to draw sketches for the scenarios! I used to love them too!

Any one has saved those pics?! It would be great to see them too.

I used to read ponniyin selvan even if it were by school ending public examinations! such was the novel of kalki and the sketches also did play a great role in instilling such a liking for the novel!

i have never read the novel, but i am a great fan of the artist. when i was in school days, kalki was a regular magazine in my uncle's home and my cousin's used to read it. as i was small, i was not interested in the story, but i used to admire the pictures as i myself was always interested in drawing.
he is an excellent artist, no doubt.
