    Dear Anitha

    After retirement I am not able to buy sarees as before. Usually I get many sarees as gifts from others . Now recenlty as I have mentioned in other thread I got a cotton saree as gift from Sudha and Saroj when Sudha came to Bombay

    love

    dear viji mami (if i may call u that)

    very interesting thread, enjoyed reading all the comments. Good to see that so many ladies are still interested and excited about sarees. Here in North India wearing a saree has become something that is done only on special occassions, but happy to see so many people who are keen on sarees. Personally love sarees in all their beautiful weaves and prints.......... It is so uniquely indian, it saddens me when women make it sound like an ordeal to wear a saree. Some even ask me oh how do u manage wearing a saree for so long............as if u need specialised training from NASA to wear a saree.

    Love printed crepes and mysore silks and kanjeevaram, especially the woven ones and any saree that has embroidery on it......... have a huge collection but still cannot resist when I see a good print or a fantastic colour combination......
    Interesting thread , look forward to reading more comments

    Great post Viji!!
    I too am saree crazy! I have 54(?) sarees (I think! ;})
    The good news for my husband is that I usually like crisp cottons rather than expensive silks >:}
    But now I have gotten too fat, so it's salwar kameez until i lose the weight...then saree heaven!
    Cheers,
    Ami

    Hi viji,

    Include me also in your list for the craze for sarees, i always wear saree when everylady in my office wears salwars & jeans, my office got atlease 50 females, sometime i use to think that there is something wrong with me because i am the only one who differs from every body, but now slowly some girls started wearing the saree like me.

    i feel now proud to see your post also.

    regards
    ssv.
