    Suhasini,

Since you are on H4, your husband's docs are important, they will not check your certificates.
However at any later point of time if you intend to file H1 , then you will need them.

    its your choice.

As far as I know, you should have your husband's I-797, his visa approval notice, employment letters/paychecks if any to show his current work status, your marriage certificate. You can bring all your certifications if you would like, but it is not required since you are on a dependent visa.

Just answer the port of entry questions like what's your husband's work about, where do you reside, do you plan to work etc.

Good luck and Welcome to US :)

Please answer "No" if you are asked "Are you planning to work here?"

Your certificates will be needed if you intend to apply h1b... Else, not needed!

    suhasini,

since you are travelling on h-4 your husbands documents are most important. his passport and visa copy , latest pay stubs and his certificates. Generally they dont ask for all this in the port of entry. but it is safe to have all this with you. they might ask you some general questions about your husbands work, his clients his education and work history etc. be prepared for all of these. do not say that im planning to work here. they asked me how i am going to spend my time here so i just answered cooking, household work and pursuing my hobbies.

    all the best :thumbsup

    Hi Suhasini,

I hope your husband is also trvaleiing with you, if no then carry a letter from his company stating that you will be travelling to US, your marriage certificate, your gradutaion certificates if you are planning to apply for H1 down the line, if you have any working experience those certificates....

    You passport :)
