    Dear Uma,
I am sharing this because you are very health conscious - this is the recipe of a nature cure doctor in Madurai. He says, extra starch is eliminated by cooking this way. Add plenty of cucumber etc to be more filling.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    dearest chitra mami

yest dinner Minestrone Soup with store bought sourdough boule bread. All of us at home are recovering from cold and cough so cooking/baking has taken a second step in the last week or so. minestrone of course is an all time favorite now and i can do it without referring to the recipe.

i have a question for you, may be you have answered this before.. typically what podis do you stock regularly ?
    the ones i have are
    parupu podi,
    dosai milagai podi,
    mel koottu maavu,
    araichu vitta sambar podi

the others like kalyana rasam podi, busi bela etc.. i make only for two times bcoz otherwise the freshness is lost.. if you suggest any other podis, i will be glad to stock them. podis are definitely life savers.
    thx for the recipes
    luvs
    shyamals.

    CV,

I just happened to be online now. Can you please index your previous post as "Podis to be stocked" and add it to a part of the index, where you deem it best suitable? It is very thoughtful of you to give links, and I am sure it is a ready reckoner for many who cook on a daily basis, unlike OB cooks like me :)

FB - I made Kadappah last night, and it was absolutely tasty. A old fashioned dish, but is a refreshing change from chutney for idli and dosais.
