Hi,

I had applied for PR to Canada in jan 2008, through a consultant, the processing was pretty fast initially, but lately there has been some change in the staff and now I am not happy with their service.

I have received the file number fast and submitted all documents as required on time. I was expecting the whole procedure to be completed by 2010 May and do the landing by Aug- Sept.

I have paid the visa fees on receiving the file number and I was told the process will be completed in a few months time. Whenever I call up the consultant the new staff in charge is not able to answer my queries and the whole proces has come to a standstill, I am in a difficult situation.

Is there any way that I can contact the CIC directly and request for changing the consultant or else take up the matter and proceed further personally???????????

If so please let me know the procedure

Best Regards
Mary

Hi Mary,
Thanks for starting this thread.
I was myself looking for some information.

Can we apply to canada for a work permit/ PR without having any work experience there? I think this shouls be little tuff as in US . In US too, generally, many companies will ask for US experience itself.
does anyone have info on this? if it is possible, then i would like to go ahead and apply for jobs in canada directly and then go on to apply for PR.

thanks

Hi Neha,

To immigrate to Canada, you need not have work experiance in Canada. There are many catogeries thru which you may apply for PR - like if a family member in Canada sponsers you, if you are already a skilled worker with relevant industry experiance (there are certain catogories for which Canada need resources - you should fit in any of those categories), else if you have any job offer from Canada.

There is a website that can guide you with Canada immigration. Check it out!

Hi Writeme,

Thanks for that info. I did check the link as well.

Another question I have is, can we apply jobs to canada(not PR) from US? do recruiters process our work visa ? Can depndent work in canada(if primary applicant has work permit and not PR)?
