hello everyone i have got a great news to all have you ever tried making idlis in sandwich maker :rotfl sounds funny right you all would have made only sandwiches using sandwich maker but it all started one day when i thought of making some designed idlis i just greased the sandwich maker and poured the idli batter in them and then closed it after the light turned off i opend and by god i was really surprised seeing the idlis perfectly cooked you know it took only 2min wow:cheers it was really awesum try adding some grated vegetables or some chutneys stuffed try it out you will be surprisedwave do try it and let me know dejay

Hi Dejay It was a lovely idea. BTW, which sandwich toaster you are using, is it that square shaped grilled ones, or the other the kind of diamond shape and not the flat grill type. Can you post the pics of those Idlis? Best Rgds Shanti
Hi Dejay, Thanks for the idea. I tried it yesterday and it came out pretty good. I wouldn't call it an idli.. It was crispy outside and soft inside. I spreaded some mint chutney and it was good. thanks again, Aswini
hi aswini thankyou for the trying you are right the outer side will be crispy and the inner soft why dont you try stuffing some grated carrots or some chutney , just pour half batter then put in your favourtie stuffing and fill it with the rest of the batter it turns out yummy giving different colors in middle too dejay
