Visit to Sheikh Zayed Mosque - 2nd Feb - Confirmations

    Hi All..

    This is about the visit to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque on the 2nd of Feb. I believe most of us know about it and are eager to participate

    I would request everyone to confirm their presence so we have an idea about how many people are gonna be there and if we need to wait at the bus stop for those like me who always run late... :rotfl

    We plan to take a bus ride to the Mosque from Capitol Gardens (Meeting point) at 9 am in the morning.

    I guess that should be fine with everyone. Please read Vishy's post in this regard too and feel free to give any suggestions/changes/ideas in addition to the above mentioned.

    Hoping to see many IL's on Tuesday !! :cheers

    I really hoped to join in but looks like i will not be able to make it...my daughter's running a cold and fever...so ...guess i'll have to opt out..

    Dear All,

    We had a great though a lil tiring time at the mosque. Vishy, Mau and myself met up in front of the Capital Gardens at 10 and took the bus to the Mosque. It was a one hour ride. We reached the Mosque at around 11' ish. We were given a Burqa to wear before entering the Mosque. It was good fun with us walking aound in over flowing robes feeling like saadhus :p

    Though we missed the guided session of the Mosque which starts at around 9 in the morning, we did get to see the huge prayer room. The grandeur and beauty of the place cannot be described in words.

    We clicked some pics and soon it was time to leave. The visiting time ends at 12. Well we walked out of the Mosque to find our way to the Bus stop. It was a hot sunny day and getting lost was surely not what we had in mind but god had different plans for us :crazy

    We were walking for almost half an hour before we finally managed to get to a bus stop and atop a bus !!! Well almost sun burned and dead tired, the Bus AC was a blessing :)

    And we did strike up a conversation with the bus wala bhaiya too ....he he Indian Mallu...

    He was quite happy tooo :thumbsup.
