Are there any book enthusiasts here? Well, am a book lover and wanted to find out where others buy their books from - both fiction and non-fiction genre. I have compared the book prices in Magrudy's and Book Palace against those bought in India, and find them quite expensive. So, if there are some avid readers here please reply; maybe we can share some information regarding book buying and also maybe set up a book-pool or a library sort of thing..who knows! Honey.
Hi Honey, I love books but find them too expensive in Dubai. Mostly I buy at Landmark in Chennai when I go on my vacation. Here i visit Magrudy's and Book Mart when there is a sale - this happens twice every year. There is a nice library in Satwa and Karama (owned by an Indian guy) who sells used / new books and takes them back at half the price once you do not require them. It is called as BOOK WORLD and is opposite Lal's Hypermarket in Satwa and near Bikanerwala's in Karama. He has got one of the best collections of books/fiction I have ever seen in Dubai at a very nominal price. Regards Preethi
Hi there, agree with Prettyguns. Books are very expensive, however you have Archies Library in Karam, near the Pyramid building (or rather in the pyramid building) it is on the road on the right side from Jolly Bee. you cant miss it, there is a pharmacy, tailor shop etc and then this library. Archies are good. Try them.
