As you begin to grow up your taste in everything changes. You start liking food that you detested. Even the stories you liked when you were a child, looks absurd when you grow up. When you cross teen age you start liking love stories and movies. But when you become old you lose interest in them. There may be exception to this rule, but generally when you advance in age definitely you can notice the changes. I seek the opinion of ILites in this matter.

    heyya...

from what you say, i would definitely agree because, now as a teenager i do see that i have changed alot compared to my childhood years. the first difference that i can confirm is my taste in music and movies. as a child i used to detest any hindi or tamil movies of the 60's/70's era. but now, i actually enjoy them very much. the same goes for music, i really love the golden oldies that i used to hate when i was a kid.

there may be exceptions too. and in that case, i would say my taste buds haven't changed that much unfortunately. i still dislike eating brinjals and white radish. hehehehe:mrgreen: .

this is my opinion of the changes we may experience as we grow older pushpa ji.thanks for bringing this topic up.
    its definitely food for thought.

    cheers

    Hi Maya,
Being a teenager you have to cross more milestones in your life. Perhaps your tastebuds also might change. In old movies songs were melodious and they had meaningful words also.

    hi pushpa,

I do agree with you. My view of things has changed in life. today the colors i choose for my dresses have also changed. the way i dress, the way i talk lot of things have changed from the good old childhood (hey pushpa, though the topic is good, you have made me feel vayasu ayuduthu:tongue ). Now my eating habits dont go with any liking. i eat everything whether i like or not to set an example for kids.

Initially my taste in music was into everything. now it is refined. i like more of ghazals, carnatic, than movie songs. In books i used to read harold robbins, and m & b's and anything i can put my hand on. The same ayn rand books that looked so inspirational in my teenage, give me different meaning now. The books i read now also include effective 7 habits, who will cry when u die, into the mind of ramanar, seshadri swamigal, mother theresa. Maybe life teaches us new perspective as we age. for me I have mellowed down a lot. I look back at lot of things with a different perspective than at that time.

I fully agree with the view.

    Love
    shanthi.

    Hello Illites,

Changes and tastes are inevitable, and I love being part of this change.
Change of decision, Change of priority, Change of thinking ...... leads me (infact everyone) into a matured lady.

about Taste, it just not food, the taste of colours and taste of beverages, taste of being with different friends does make a difference as well.....

I change as and when my situation demands at all aspects like Fashion/cosmetic/Family etc etc . I totally nod what Pushpavalli said, when you are young at heart, you will remain young forever Kudos Pushpavalli :)

Hi ..Thats a nice topic. I think the biggest change that happened to me is that I started loving my mother more than I did before (ofcourse there is no quantum of love in the relation with mother). But now me being a mother, i can understand how she must have felt when I have done odds to her.

    Dear Pushpavalli
I entered this thread only today. It made me also think.
I never used to like bitterguard, neam leaves etc., till I was 40. Now I love them more than potatos!
In those days we rarely got a chance to go for a movie or eat out and we used to celebrate it.
Now I go to these places only to give company to others,
Personally Iam happy with simple harmless home food,
Not to tell about movies of today-rarely I relish movies like Mozhi, Thare zameen par etc.,Even Sivaji and Dasavatharam were not to my taste.
I remember my mother telling similar things when she was in her fifties and I was a teenager!
The changes in you occur without your knowledge as age advances!

    Dear Jaya,
You are right. After I personally noticed the changes in my life, I poured out my thoughts in this thread. As we cross fortys we view life in a different perspective. Perhaps there might be expection to this rule.
I seldom watch movies. Gone are the days when movies had meaningful stories and morals. I hate to watch the tear jerking violentful TV serials also.
    Thanks for supporting my views,
    Love,
