    Hello Friends,

I am very confused and need your advice regarding IUI with Clomid. We have male factor Issue and my Docter suggested me Clomid with IUI. I have couple of questions and it will be great if you all can share your experiences and advice me.

1.Why did my docter advice me Clomid though my periods are regular and I ovulate.Did anyone use clomid though you are ovulating.

    2. Will I have any problem by using Clomid as I am able to ovulate by myself.I mean will it interfere with my regular Ovulation and cycles.

    Thanks,
    Babydream

Babydream I don't understand why clomid is being used for you if you are ovulating regularly on your own. In my opinion, why fix it when it's not broken? it can actually mess up your cycle / hormone balance. So I will suggest talking to your doctor about doing a natural cycle with IUI. In this, you can use an ovulation prediction kit and/or ultrasounds to figure out exactly when you ovulate and then plan the IUI accordingly.

The only reason the doc may prescribe clomid is if you are ovulating later than cd 15 as mt gynec said pregnancy chances are smaller. If you are naturally ovulating before cycle day 15 then there is no need to take clomid in my opinion.

Dear Babydream, we are in exactly the same boat, my DH has MF and i ovulate on my own and have a regular 28-29 days cycle, even i was prescribed clomid for my first IUI on Dec first and and when i asked my gynec y? she said this will lead to more follicles and hence more chances, but to my surprise on 100 mg clomid also i had only one good follicle so i thought what was the sense of taking it when normally also i produce 1 follicle on my own, but still it depends on your body and how you will react to clomid?
In fertilityfriend if you serach for charts with malefactor and IUI , you will find plenty which shows BFP and thus IUI shows good success rate even with Mild male factor.

    All the best.
