    Re: Cord Blood Banks Question?

    Hi Pmahensa,

Could you please give me details why you chose specifically CBR. Any advantages of CBR over other banks. As I have few in my list like FamilyCord, ViaCord, CBR, MiracleCord etc. I am confused which one to choose?

    Re: Cord Blood Banks Question?

    Hi,

I am also planning to go with CBR.. They are comparatively low priced and provide quality service. My BIL also chose CBR and they were happy with it. They called CBR when they were in labor but still CBR sent a person with kit immediately. So you can choose at any time.

    Cheers,
    Kavitha

    Re: Cord Blood Banks Question?

donating cord blood is done in public banks , instead of private banks. There is no charge for it. Look for a public bank and call them for questions.

Re: LIFECELL - Cord Blood/ Stem Cells

We are also thinking of saving the cord blood and we are looking at cryocell. This one looks cheaper compared to all $1400 0r $1500 and yearly around $125. My friend signed up yesterday and said there was some kind of offer going on and she got it for $950. Not sure how long the offer is. If anybody wants to check it out call them.
I think the website is www.cryo-cell.com

Re: LIFECELL - Cord Blood/ Stem Cells

    Hello Priya,

If you are interested in donating your cord blood, checkout this website of Cryobanks International. If the hospital where you will be delivering has a Cryobank representative/office, it will be even easier to get the kit. I did donate recently but it was used for the diabetic research (study) as I had been to India in Feb 2009 (India is on their list of - Malaria hit countries).

Oh its great to hear that this topic has already started for discussion. Now I have a child of 8 months old and we have gone for this Cord blood cell preservation.Though affordability matters here, life is much more costlier/unco mparable.

Its getting awareness in most of the places. We wish this journey has to continue....:thumbsup
