Read about the temple and would like to share it with my indusladies friends.

    The chilukar temple near hydrebad.
The presiding deity is Lords Balaji, also known as the 'Veesaala Devudu'(God of Visas). The temple is quite popular with visa applicants ,esp student visa applicants. It's fun to watch young college grads running around the temple ( pradakshinas).
    This is how it works

Stage 1 :- Put in the visa application form
Come to the chilukuru temple ,and do 11 rounds around the temple ( pradakshina) and pray for your visa.

Stage 2 :- Go through the visa processing formalities

Stage 3: Iff you get the visa ,you go back to the temple and finish your rounds ,108 times this time around.

    How to reach there:
25 kms from Hyderabad, head to mehdipatnam and 45 mins from there.

    Hi SBC,
You are right! I came to know about this temple few months back when my parents visited my sis in Hyd. They all went to this temple. Well there was no "Visa-wish" that they had :) But we all were surprised to see people's belief in the temple. I can only say that :-
IT HAPPENS ONLY IN INDIA :-D

    Re: Sri Lakshminarayan Temple

    Dear Sunita,
Thanks for showing interest to visit the temple. Just opposite to the Pallikaranai bus stop, there is a lane and it directly leads to the temple. This is the main bus stop of Pallikaranai. If you intend to visit the temple at evening time, if you can send me a PM, I will try to meet you at the temple. Being Adi Vellikizamai, this Friday Unjal Uthsavam will be conducted between 7 and 7.30 p.m. If it is convenient to you, you could visit on that day.
    Love,
    Pushpavalli

    Dear Friends,

I had given you information about Shaneeshwara and Ayyappa temple in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, <st1:place>Maharashtra</st1:place>.

Today, I will be telling you about <st1:place><st1:placeName>Lord</st1:placeName> <st1:placeName>Balaji</st1:placeName> <st1:placeType>Temple</st1:placeType></st1:place>, Nerul.:)

    LOCATION

Nerul is one of the nodes of the satellite city Navi Mumbai. Lord Balaji Temple is located on the Brahmagiri Hills of Nerul, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is located on the west side of Nerul.

There are rail routes connecting you to Nerul from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (V.T.) and Thane. This node is also well connected by BEST, NMMT, MSRTC buses. You can also take the local auto rickshaw services.

    No eating joints here.

    ABOUT THE <st1:City><st1:place>TEMPLE</st1:place></st1:City>

Lord Balaji Temple of Nerul is the exact relplica of the Orginal temple at Tirupathi. It is constructed according to the Shilpashastras where the main temple is surrounded by other temples. This temple also has temples of Lord Vidya Ganapathi, Goddess Padmavati, Lord Hanuman and Ramanuja temple.

As you enter the complex you have Bali Peetam and the Dwajasthambas. From here you have to climb few steps upwards which lead you to the Tiru Mamani Mantapam. The Entrance Hall and the Garba Griham is exactly the same as that of Tirupati Shrine (same dimensions). The Hall is guarded by Dwarkapals Jaya and Vidya.

The Rajagopuram of the temple is 60ft tall.

The Lord stands 8’ tall in the Garbha Griham (11.1’ from Peetam to Kiridam). This idol was sculpted out of a single stone at Mamallapuram in Tamil <st1:place><st1:City>Nadu</st1:City>, <st1:country-region>India</st1:country-region></st1:place>.

At the right foot of the Lord, there is a small silver idol called, “Bhoga Srinivasa” which is loosely tied to the Main Diety.

Garuda stands in front of the idol and devotees are not allowed to stand between the Lord Balaji and Garuda.

The Srivari Hundi is made in the line of the one present in Tirumala Shrine.

Lord Vidya Ganapati temple is constructed as per the Aagama Shastras. The idol is made of granite.

Pancha Loha idol of Shree Ramanuja is situated in the Ardha Mandapam.

Idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Laxman and Hanuman; Lord Krishna and Rukmini are replicas of the ones found in Thirumala Shrine.

<st1:place><st1:placeType>Temple</st1:placeType> of <st1:placeName>Goddess Padmavati</st1:placeName></st1:place> was constructed prior to the construction of Lord Balaji. The idol is made of Granite.

<st1:place><st1:placeType>Temple</st1:placeType> of <st1:placeName>Lord Vishvakesana</st1:placeName></st1:place> is constructed near the main temple.

The idols of Sridevi and Bhoodevi are made of Pancha Loha.

Behind the Garba Griham, there is the Kalyana Mantapam (Hall) where bhajans, keertans, utsavs, and pravachans are conducted.

The temple is very crowded during weekdays and days of significance. We do not miss our culture when it comes to temples in Navi Mumbai.

    ABOUT THE <st1:City><st1:place>TEMPLE</st1:place></st1:City>

The Brahmagiri Hillock houses other temples like the <st1:place><st1:placeName>Swaminarayan</st1:placeName> <st1:placeType>Temple</st1:placeType></st1:place>, Narayan Guru complex, Mata Amrutanandamayi Complex, Little <st1:place><st1:placeName>Flower</st1:placeName> <st1:placeType>Church</st1:placeType></st1:place>. The atmosphere around this place is very serene.

It is indeed a great boon to Navi Mumbaikars to have such beautiful temples around us. :-D

There are many who are not aware of the beautiful places around us.

    Ladies,
The latest temple to dot the landscape of Atlanta is the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple that was officially opened during the last week of August. Built out of red sand stone from India, Turkish limestone and marble from Italy, this temple stands out like a shining pearl. Constructed in the style of North Indian Temples, there are 5 Shikaras and 12 small domes. Intricate designs, sculptures and motifs all hand-carved adorn the entire structure. I learnt that around 2000 hand carved sculptures were shipped from India.

The main deity is Radha Krishna and Gurus of the Swaminarayan Sect. There is a seperate shrine for Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman. Shiva, Parvathi and Ganesh have a seperate shrine. The temple is not fully functional. There is still some construction activity going on and a part of the entire temple complex is still not open. The day I visited this temple, there was a big crowd of both Indians and Non-Indians waiting paitently in a line to have a glimpse of the breath-takingly beautiful inner shrine. The color lights add a marvellous glow to the inner hall. The sculptures in the dome are strikingly impressive.

This temple is contructed on a vast land of 28 acres. It is the fifth largest Hindu stone temple outside India. Photography is permitted only upto a certain point and here are some pictures that I would like to share with you. If you happen to visit Atlanta then add this temple to your must-see list.

    Cheers!
