    Hi Everyone,

I think it would be lovely if we could share our experience abt the places that are worth visiting around Dallas.

I had been to Lake Lewisville. It was a fun place. You can either plan a picnic or if you like you may camp too. But there is an entry fee as well as camping fee. Water sports like boating, fishing, so on are allowed. There are grills and benches on the banks of the river, so you may even have a barbecue... The place is definitely worth visiting...

Dallas World Aquarium - Entrance fee around $16.00 per ticket but you can spend the whole day with kids without getting bored. It's different and educative. There is also some performance by Mayan Tribes (dressed very colourfully with Maccaw's sitting on them, small stretch of underwater world, Large bird nests with the nesting birds... so on... it's an interesting outing for people with little ones

Fortworth Zoo, wow... it's tiring ... Entrance fee ~$12.00 p.t. .. kids will enjoy. Better to carry some snacks or food as the restaurants in the Zoo are packed and takes hours of wait to finally get the food. Kids will enjoy but yes it could be not very interesting for the adults.

Do post your reviews of the places that u've visited. It can be very handy for all of us living in and around Dallas to do something in the week-ends.

    Thanks dear,

I think I'll visit Fossil Rim and then post my views on it. I also came to know of Arboretum, I'll check it out and post the details.

We were in Dallas for 5 months.. and we had been to

    1) Dallas aquarium
    2) FArmers market -- ( its like visiting a sunday market bk in india) . I would go for the fresh fruits, and big bags of fresh spinach and veggies.
    3) wax museum and Ripleys believe it or not
    4) Dallas Arboretu
    5) FORTWORTH WATER GARDENS
    6) and once we made atrip to san antonio 5 hrs drive from dallas.. you got to see the SEA WORLD and river walk..one nice historic place..

If you were to make a decision between houston or sanantonio, i would suggest san antonio..

    7)RODEO Shows

You can also goto SIX FLAGS

and then the GALLERIA MALL, IRVING MALL

Thanks Anita. I've not been to the Farmers market yet but made it to the rest. San Antonio plan keeps getting delayed but hope to make it soon. :)

    hi happy me..
Turner falls is a beautiful place located at the border of texas and oklahoma. Around 2 hrs drive from irving. It has a wonderful falls as well as a calm lake/river which flows through little rocks, where you are sit on and enjoy the cool water.
Amazing place, even kids have fun there. Really worth seeing this summer.
