Hi All,

What is Fibroid? is it different from PCOS? I had pelvic ultrasound because of spotting in between my periods. My doctor said I have a fibroid which is 2.6 cm.

everybody is talking about PCOS. I didn't get much information about Fibroid.

we are planning for kids and I am worried alot because of this.

Hi Megha,
Welcome to Indus ladies & to this forum. You can read the forum etiquette here.
Don't get tensed up with fibroids. They can be removed with medical aid. Be in touch with your gynec to resolve it. You can get some info on fibroids here. This one talks about cures to it.
Hope these links explains all your question.
Take care of your health.

Hi Ramya,

Hugs to you . I feel like I am reading my own story. I had faced these difficulties with MIL and husband till couple of months back .DH himself had used the same words that me & my parents have cheated him. I feel that was just because of ignorance. My advice to you would be :
1. As its already 50 days meet the gyn immediately. She/he would again check if u are pregnant and would give you tablets to get ur periods
2. Have a check on your diet and exercise liberally. I also noticed that I put on weight and was bloated a week before periods.
3. Educate yourself about PCOS.I do not know much about the condition of thickened endometrium. Try to tell ur husband in a slow pace about what the condition is and it is definitely not a disease(though PCOD has a disease word in it) . Tell him it is a reversible condition and a tension free mind is required so that you can handle the cysts better. I guess once you get ur husbands support , he will deal with MIL himself and you need not have to hear those hurtful words .
4. Have you done HSG/Laproscopy till now. They generally do it to check if your follicular tubes are blocked or not and if uterus & ovaries are fine.
5. Continue the medicines given by ur gyn. Metformin helps to keep the insulin resistance under control.
Do not worry. We are all here to give u moral support and suggestions as all of us are in the same boat. Cheer up , meet ur gyn and talk about future options for you. That include Clomid for follicle stimulation( as PCOS does not allow natural development & growth of follicles ) and progestrone supplement to start with apart from your metformin.

HI Ramya,
I remember your query on endo thickness long back. Have you raised this question to your gynec? What is the response from that side?

Throw your MIL & dh words in dust bin. They won't do any good to you. Who knows who have the problem. You dh can have sperm issues too! Whether Semen analysis has been done? Be positive & take care of your health. Most of the people in my MIL family have history of MC or took long to conceive. so, I haven't been with those words but they are really pushing hard to have the baby!

About ET, some where i read ET can go beyond 13mm during ovulation time. After ovulation it is said to increase, though i don't know the exact numbers. At what time your ET has been measured?

For PCOS, proper diet & exercise is required. Plan what you are eating with less carbo & more protein. Supplement your food with more vegitables & fruits. Though these will not give immediate response, with time it will show good results...

Hope soon you will come out these struggles & win in TTC!
Baby dust to you!

Hi Ramie,
PLEASE DO NOT WORRY...
I have PCOS and trust me you will get pregnant very easily...it’s just a matter of time and finding a good Reproductive Endocrinologist.

The reason behind thickened endometrium is lack of periods. During periods we shed the endometrium lining and the normal thickness is somewhere 4mm, but due to lack of periods this lining gets thickened.

Here is my suggestion…please uses your own mind but this is what worked for me….I am trying it again next month for my second baby…
Out and out Please do not waste your time on clomid and femera…all these drugs are good for ladies who have really mild case of PCOS or have some other infertility issue’s, PCOS make the quality of an woman’s egg really inferior, so even if you ovulate and make eggs, the chances of getting those egg turn into embryos are very very slim.
The only thing which will work is IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization). I don’t know where you live but its very easy here in US and I heard a lot of success stories in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />India too.
Why IVF…..because PCOS woman produces poor quality of egg so through IVF their ovaries are over stimulated to produce more eggs and then there are better chances of getting an egg which will fertilize and turn into embryo for transplanting into uterus.
This process is pretty intensive…but it will save a lot of time and emotional roller coaster for you.

Please search for a good Reproductive Endocrinologistand also educate yourself on PCOS through internet. There are plenty of resources available if you google PCOS.Also please see the link below for more information

God Bless You and you will definitely be holding your little baby in your arms pretty soon!

HI Ramya,
May the that ET was because of irregular periods as stated by Jyoti...
Iron rich foods are said to help in bring heomoglobin count higher. Try pomogranate, jaggery & there are many more to help in hb count. Try to research on it!

Educated or uneducated is not a matter in infertility. Just you need to understand what is what. Educate him on this. There are many women who are getting pregnant after these infertilty treatments. With the pollution & food culture we have now, its tough to have natural occuring process these days! Relax & try your best to fight on PCOS!

I hope the expence for IVF will come around 2.5 Lakhs in India.

Baby dust to you...

Dear Ramya,

Its looks like im reading my own story except for that my hubby supported me the most & we visited majority of good doctors in mumbai.

I got married 5 years back, and didn't knew for 3 years that i was having PCOS though my periods were irrgular but i didn't care.

I conceived normally and delivered a baby boy last month. During PCOS I was kept on low calarie diet by my gny for abt 2 years and the metformin medicines. No fatty foods no choclates no oil etc etc and started yoga of ramdev baba. There is a CD which he has recenty made on infertility problems, check that its real good one.
Doctors medicines do play a vital role, yoga keeps yr head kool, as stress will not make yr medicines work.

Dr Gautam Allahbadia is one good IVF/IUI specialist in mumbai for yr immidiate solution and its real expensive abt 1 lakh per cycle of treatment.

Normally 30% chances per cycle to concieve and it will not have any problem to baby which will be monitoried by doctor

This method of treatment is not about making yr periods regular, its all abt concieving, ours and doctors ultimate goal.

Getting and making regular periods is no big deal once u deliver the baby.

Things will become fine soon, this is all matter of time and patience,

Dipu.
