    dearest chitra mami

absolutely loved the fbs that are pouring in. yest the busibela turned out soooo nice. in fact we even loved it for dinner. last night made pista choc roll.. my camera was not working properly so couldnt take the pic. just fool proof recipe. and made it in 10 mins totally. havent used khoa so far, so was a little apprehensive about the smell. once it warms with the sugar, the smell just seems to vanish. the roll and cut method makes for so pretty pieces. akka was thrilled and the ease and speed in which we could make this. we all loved the taste chitra mami. this is also ur tribute to her music :)

    Dear Mathashri,

Yesterday I made ridge gourd daal and ridge gourd peel chutney! First daal.. wow!! It was so creamy and the tempering was heavenly. I think I ate more rice than I should have! The chutney, it was really different and I took some home for my mom, dad and granny this morning. They loved it and mom finished most of it with her dosas.

I have started making sweets for tomorow and sweet 1 - chocolate truffles is ready. I used chopped almonds for the garnish as I dint get the choco vermicelli. And it looks good because the chocolate itself looks very dark so it is a perfect match. I made small paper cups and have now refrigerated it. Ummm I made some indulgences while rolling the truffles. I guess I should not open the fridge, atleast till DH is back from work.

Happy Diwali to all the ILs and families.!!!!

A Very Happy Deepawali To You & Your Family.
As promised I'm back with more fbs.Yesterday night completed Omapodi.DD took a fancy for Manoharam & omapodi,DS liked soft Angel Burfi & DH said " Thattai vaila pota karairthu".
Today made Makhan Peda, Potato Chakli & Choco Pista Roll.Makhan Peda is slightly brown but tastes good.If I had just tasted patato chakli I would have been wondering how it is made. The combination of potato & jeera is really good.:thumbsup
Cooked khao little bit longer:bonk .so somewhat adjusted & rolled & kept in fridge.Thinking of cutting the pieces for Choco Pista Roll after sometime.
All the recipes are from your treasure trouve. This is my second Diwali with your recipes.:)Thanks a ton for making our Diwali special.
    Love,
    Damini.

    Dear chithramma,

I can't wait until taking and uploading photos... so here instant FB for super thenkuzhal as i'm making it (taken a break!). it's super white, super crisp so in all super-o-super thenkuzhal. when i ground the ulundu was a bit scared because the smell was a bit not so easy on the nose:( but after mixing with rice flour it was normal thenkuzhal maavu smell.

my only question is i'm not able to retain the full thenkuzhal round shape... i mean namma norukkamaleye athuva norungikarathu:hide:... did i make any mistake somewhere?

i'll come back with photo later... now getting back into action:)

    Dear C

Mixing everything for rasam and giving a whistle before lunch is a great idea. Will do that during weekends. We anyways, heat rasam before lunch. These tips make cooking pleasurable. Yesterday morning, made the rava umpa mix and in the evening, it was just the addition of boiling water. That helped me organize my time after work efficiently with the kid and the baby.

Vahee - your chiroti looks so perfect.

Latha - your choco pista roll looks yummy...!

Usha - Mysorepak in vengala uruli sounds very interesting. What kind of a stove you have and what all you use the uruli for???

    -Gayathri.
