re: Queries about General Healthcare in Singapore!

    hi nagashree,
here in HK, Hepatitis-B vaccine is given in the hospital of delivery...1st dose the day baby is born, 2nd dose when baby is 1 mnth old and third dose when baby is 6 mnths old..and they record all the vaccines and date given on a health record book...i suggest your friend to approach the hospital and ask them to refer their records for information...in any case it is better to consult a pediatrician for advise regarding this..for other friends who read this, it is better to write down all the vaccine info and dates in a diary because immunization is very important to prevent life threatening diseases...

    Hi nagashree

Some of the countries like US/ Singapore?HK etc vaccinate the babies at birth since Hep B vaccination should be followed up by 2 booster doses. I dont know about the hospitals in India. As Vidhyaparani has suggested it is best to check with your friend's pediatrician in India. She may also want to check with any of the local pediatricians!

    Re: Pnueumococcal Diseases

    hi nagashree,
here in hongkong pediatricians recommend a vaccine for pneumococcal diseases called Prevenar(pneumococcal conjugate vaccine,7-valent)..my baby had 4 doses when she was 4, 6, 8 and 14 months old..
you can check with a local pedi. for advise..
