    Dear C,

Made beans moong thanni kuzhambu and MW carrot curry today. Kuzhambu was very good, beans and moong blended well (wondering how you arrived at this combo) and adding garlic at end made it so aromatic. Carrot curry was very quick to make and tasty, apadiye sapidalam dish.

    Love,
    Priya

    Dear Chitra mami,

Tried a couple of items during the last three days:
    1) Snake gourd kootu with onions , without coconut- Recipe sounded very different from normal kootu which I used to make, so tried it. Onyl change I did was instead of adding small onions while cooking, I added it last along with tempering. It tasted very good. I normally dont relish the vegetable( may be because of the name:crazy ), but loved it this time.

    2) Kalikindina dosai and easy kozhambu - What to say....it was so soft , tasty , excellent combination. Bland , soft , white dosai with spicy side dish. Nothing was left in the vessel , I had to satisfy with 1 and half dosai with 2 spoons of curry. :tongue

Again I made one modification in the method. It is not modification, since I couldnt get it perfect, I altered it that way. I put the dosa on other side also to cook. Though it was very thin, I had a doubt whether it would have cooked properly if I dont cook the other side. Same was my problem with rava dosa also, which I tried some days back. This art I am yet to learn. How do we know for sure that the dosa would be fine, without turning it the other side? :idontgetit: Any tips mami?

    3) Cabbage bhath - Made that for today's lunch and had with mix veg raita. Very different taste, loved it.

    Thanks mami

    Radhi

Priya, both beans & green gram are individually my favourites!! Hence that combo!
Adding a little milk makes all the difference to the MW carrot curry!
    Thanks & love,
    Chithra.

Dear Radhi, oh, don't go by the name of the vegetble!! All gourds are our typical 'country vegs'!
I can understand your doubt about the top side getting cooked or not:idea
But, surely it will be cooked. Why not try it once? Sometimes thin dosais tend to break while turning over & hence I suggest this. Infact I have given a recipe
    1-2-3 (Aval) Oothappam
which should not be turned over lest the spongy texture be disturbed!
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chithra,
came back on Sunday from Kovai. A is quite fine and managing ok. He is just learning so I can pardon some of his lackings. You know he had been very much dependent on me. I can feel some difference in his behavior, of course for the better. I am giving him time to settle and learn. He is doing well in class also.
I am making veg everyday in the kutti cooker as per your tips only, it is very convenient. I wash the cooker immediately and so it is always ready for use. Yesterday I made karamani and today snake gourd with bengal gram dal (soaked). It is quick and R does not complain that it is raw.
Am yet to start special cooking. Planning to make rava dosai for dinner today.

Varloo, believe me, thenext time A comes home for a break, you will notice him more confident & independent. That is how our children evolve!!
R will not complain because the veg will not be raw at all,but cooked!
    Thanks & love,
    Chithra.

    Dear chitramma,
For dinner i made rava dosai y'day. Believe me i was able to prepare thin dosa in the iron tava and it didn't break. I was surprised and happy too...:)
First time when i prepared it in the non-stick tava it was sticked in the corner and i hardly prepare ravadosa without break..
:thankyou2: very much for giving good recipes. My mil wondered do u have to pour this much of water, it won't come out. I said just wait and see. she was also surprised...

    love..
    lakshmi.
