i have one request.. could you please explain the procedure of grinding rice flour.. what if i grind in mixi rather than giving to a mill, will the texture differ? Please share here when you find time.thanks.
Cindhuja, If this helps - I used the store bought Rice flour. So doesnt matter where u grind it, you just need to make it a fine powder, or I heard this from my mom - you can even grind large quantity of soaked rice in grinder with minimal water and then heat the batter in a vessel till it turns into desired consistency .
Thanks amma for the kolukkatai this year my self and my mother going to try your recipes and offer to lord ganesh...
Dear Krishnamma Thanks for all the receipes. You have explained each and every thing in a good way as if it can make even the unknown people to take interest and try to do it. Thank you very much. I :bowdown for the good work done by you for all of us. I am sure that everyone will get benefitted.
Just a suggestion. I make the outer cover of the Modhagam like this. Measure the quantity of rice required and soak it for 1 hour. Then grind it with water in the mixie very nicely and add more water to it. Then in the kadai add little oil and pour this. Should continuously stir it till it becomes soft. Close and keep it. After 10 mins, you can use it for making the outer cover of the modhagam. I think I have explained to some extent. If someone feels that it can be explained in a more systematic manner, can please do it.
