Hi, I enrolled my kid in gymnastics and already am planing to go for taekwondo also. But I heard from a friend that they both could impact height growth. Do any of you have heard of this or have a clue on it? I heard such a thing only about bharathanatyam in the past, not sure how far is that true. Any comments?
As I know atleast for taekwondo its the otherway. Taekwondo involves lots of kicking compared to other martial arts like karate, kungfu etc. This stretches out leg muscles effecting in increase of height, though its not "the best" method to increase one's height. -Uma

Unless there is resistance training there is not going to be anything stopping the height, unless it is the other way in the genes. My daughter and son, have not been impacted, but it is also part of the genes, with DH, GFs also being tall...
