But here we dont get all the products of J & J. It would be nice if someone could suggest a home made oil. Presently I use olive and sometimes coconut oil.

    hi

there is nothing like coconut and olive oil for the baby's hair
    its the best..
but if u use one stick to it.. dont' keep changing often , as baby might get cold..

i put coconut oil for the hair and olive oil for the body.. for my toddler

    bye

Hello friends, I need some guidance on the subject:) Normally in India we apply coconut oil everyday on the hair (atleast in tamilnadu). We do have coconut oil at home here too but in winter it gets frozen. I don't mind giving it a hot-water dip everyday but when I apply it on my son's hair (3 yrs old) it becomes sticky after a while. I shampoo him only twice a week. I don't want to use perfumend oils like Vatika on him yet. His hair is dry by nature. Do you apply oil everyday, what do you use or is it necessary at all? Please share your tips. Latha

    Hi Traveller,
You can apply olive oil to your son`s hair. My daughter has dry hair,
especially in winter it is really bad. Coconut oil has cool effect. In winter
season retaining the heat is must. So olive oil suits the need.Daily I apply
olive oil to my daughter`s hair.

Thank you Vidya! I didn't know coconut oil is cooling:( this is a wonderful tip. My husband tells me unlike India we don't need to apply oil here. but may be because i'm so used to massaging the scalp with oil i prefer to do it:) Latha

    Dear Latha

I use Vatika for my son on a daily basis, just a little to keep the hair in good condition.I feel Vatika really makes the hair black and thick. We started using this for him from when he was 2 yrs old.On weekends,we give him a full head-to-toe coconut oil massage and bath.Hope this helps.
