    Dear VK,
So, cooking in full swing in your daughter's house??
Makai ki roti is slightly tricky when it comes to "spreading" it - we cannot use a rollin pin!:-( Good that you have mastered it.

Need some good ideas to prepare some good and quick veg dishes.

    Dear Chitra ji,

I need your help. Everyday morning in our house three people to go out and the timings:
My daughter who is the Softwear Engr. will have to leave for her works @ 7.00 am. And my second daughter who is studying PUC I will have to leave at 7.45 am. And me along with my second doughter and I will drop at her college and go for my office. It is very difficult for my wife to prepare lunch bpxes for all the three in morning hours that too at or before 7.30 am. We all like chappathi and side veg (we are vegetarian) dishes. I don't mind whatever is available I will eat including the previous day rice with Curd is OK for me. But the kids are not like us. They need the varieties. My wife is a good cooker but restricted to Sambar and Rasam etc. etc., but not ved. side dishes for Chappati. Daily both of my daughters comes and tell us that they tasted their friends food (especially veg. dishes) and it is soo nice. Why not mummy is not preparing like that ? I do help in Kitchen always for my wife to complelte before 7.30 pm. We prepare mostly kurry of MuttaiKose, Brinjal, Vendaikai and they need the varieties. Could you pl. sugeest two or three quick veg dishes including so Kurumas, so that we can surprise our kids with your help ! ! ! ! Hope I am not troubling you Chit.... - thanks & regards - ramani -

    Dear chithramma,

    rendu doubt:

    1. vegetarian omelette: should we cook it only on one side? cover pannanuma illiya?
    2. onion chutney (ragi dosai companion): is it a raw chutney? if yes do you use bellary vengayam?

    thank you.

    Latha,
1 - cook only on one side

Hi, I strongly suggest you attend the Samsung cookery classes conducted by Jothi Naresh at a Tupperware outlet on Sterling road. Se is very friendly & helpful. Phone up the samsung office & find out the timings, days etc.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Chithramma,

    I have 3 doubts today:)

first... what is lapsi? Is it just wheat broken or is it processed in some way. Why this doubt came to me is... we get Bulgur here which is also broken wheat but apparently it's sort of par-boiled. I have tried it once in place of lapsi and it tasted same for me. At DH's home they buy wheat and break it coarsely in flour mill. I always thought Lapsi was kind of partially processed.

Second... do you use quick cooking oats in your oats recipes? Just now saw the tempting oats-lapsi porridge and got the doubt.

third... again after seeing your latest microwave recipe... as you know here we get too many varieties of cheese. the kind you use is it the normal cheese slice that we use in sandwiches?

    thank you thank you:)
