    Dear Meenakshi,
If it's a pleasure for you to dig my old stories, it's a greater pleasure for me to see my stories being dug out by someone like you.
Thanks for the words you have about this Lakshmi. But I am not sure whether all my Lakshmis would merit good words from you.
When I wrote this series I was particular about the female name. I took the male names at random. That's why Ram comes here, unreasonably.
    thanks once again,
    love,
    sridhar

hmmmmm again a story about onesided ness.....Sridhar sir I started thinking we keep reading and hearing and seeing such stories and incidents...what do we do about it??? even I see my friends complain about such things or scenes..but finally either its the husbands way or way out (i.e divorce) is the current way of solution ...do you agree?? there is no common ground solution people strive for....

    Hi Varalotti Sir,

Great story...hats off to lakshmi...the attitude and the bold character of the fictional character is very much appreciated...but what about the reality?...these type of problems still prevails in our society in all the classes of people and only some are bold enough to take right solution.

Anyway, I like the story very much.

    Cheers,
    Lakshmi.

It's true Vidya that women are still treated badly. But just look back and see the path we have travelled so far. In those days men could go on marry any number of women. Women did not have any rights in the family property. All these are changed now.
Even now women suffer. Because for a woman even now living with her husband is of paramount importance. for this she has to sacrifice so many things, at times even her self respect.
    love,
    sridhar

    Hi Lakshmi,
Yes Lakshmi, the reality is still not much changed. But how do we change it? By popularising stories like these. You see in the sixties no magazine would have dared to publish this story. But now people are openly appreciating the story.
Similarly when I wrote the story Thozhana, Kaadalana (Ananda Vikatan issue dated 27/5/2009) way back in 2000 it was rejected as too bold and too outspoken. But now it was published and many people welcome it.
Stories, whether real or fictional, have a powerful influence over our thinking.
That's why I have been writing non-stop all these years.
    love,
    sridhar

    Hi Varalotti Sir,

Its me again. True...popularizing such stories is the best way to reach out to the people and creating awareness among them. I want such stories should reach not only to the elite members of the community but also to the deprived one.

Only after seeing your reply, i read your story in AV. Yeah...true...even if i had read that story some years back, i myself might not have accepted it. If i hadn't accepted the change, i may not be where i am today. Change is the only thing which is permanent. Only if we able to change ourselves for better, we can fit ourselves in a comfortable place here and at least participate in the race with others.

    Cheers,
    Lakshmi.
