Things U Love & hate about abroad

1. one more thing i like here is about car driving rules, parking rules and th e facility for the handicapped (separate parking lot for them) which is near to any place they wish to go. Even docotor's offices, malls, public buses,shopping area have such an allottment. This makes them easier to go anywhere with or without help. To go inside these offices or other public places, they have ramps so that the people in wheelchairs can get into the places. to my surprise even the restrooms to the handicapped have large area inside compared to the other restrooms.
2. Students studying whether in school,colleges or in Universities do not give respect to the teachers (exceptions are there).
3. The mentality like "I am special and I am important" which makes them proud did not help them in tolerating others.(this is also one point that I did not like in US.) This kind of thinking may be helpful to the people who are taking treatments for any medical reasons or for the people who are undergoing therapies, this mostly falls into wrong hands and they take it to their own advantage.

I like the clamness, nature, clean roads and environment, easy access to anything, so many what others have listed.

Dislikes:

First and foremost docotors appointment and even when u get the appointment after a period of 2 weeks min, waiting at doctors office to meet the doctor is just a hell, i think by that waiting time, most of us will forget about our symptoms of that illness...

Lots of freedom to children.

Away from family..

some foods and fruits and seasonal items that we get in India which we really miss here.
Also in India, we can buy vegetables freshly and daily but not here..

i feel 2-3 plus points only.
1. far away from inlaws(that itself for a peaceful life):mrgreen: only hubby,wife kids means v can live veryyyyyyyyhappily.:yes:
2. money,money.
rest of the things r minus points always.
no DR facillities,no safe,nothing comfortable when compare to our gr8India.

 

Really why i dont know most of girls want to come here. notthing is here if compares to india. for everything we have to depend on our husbends,if they r co-oparetive no problem,oter wise life is fill with frustration.here people r also not friendly,that may be not their falt they might have be lot of friends,so they don't want to do friendship with new people,but what about new people?
finally, idont like this abroad life.

 

Frankly,I don't know whether this aspect is a boon or a bane.Yes,it makes life so easy when we can return some dress that does not fit or return something which we purchased wrongly etc.But recently,my neighbour,(who I am ashamed to say is Indian) did something which I could not tolerate.Some part inside her blender/mixie got damaged.Instead of buying that spare part,she purchased a similar model blender,got it home,removed that part from the new blender and returned the blender to the store like as though nothing had happened.She just told the sales person that she did not like the model,hence she returned it.She proved what a dishonest and untrustworthy person she is. We were so ashamed when we heard this that we slowly cut the friendship with her.

 

After reading that blog,I am tempted to post my experiences the last weekend at two Indian restaurants.

On Saturday,we had been to an Indian restaurant in our area.The lunch was buffet style and so we had to stand in a line to get our food.In front of me were a young Indian couple who were so engrossed in talking to each other(or should I say flirting with each other) that they were taking their own cool time to take the food,and not bothering to see that a huge queue of people were waiting behind them.To add to the frustration,there was an old lady behind me who was pushing me away to load her plate before me. I was so irritated with the behaviour of all these people that I just moved away and came back to my chair.At the next table,another lady was shouting to her child---Thatchi mammu sappidu pa,sappidu--vaa,seekiram sappidu and this was going on for 1/2 hr. Our people never change whether they are in the U.S or in India.

On Monday,we had been to the Saravana Bhavan at Bay area.Well,here,once you are inside ,you will never miss India-the food will remind you of India and the sound level will also remind you of the same.In the ladies restroom,one lady was shouting at the top of her voice to her kids and even singing nursery rhymes there!!

Well,that's it...I had seen and heard it all!!!:bang

I can relate to the blog & Sunitha's experiences as i'm just back from a weekend trip which was swarming with holidaying Indians and i'm appalled to say the least of most of their behaviour!!

I read a report in the paper a few days back which conducted a survey about the worst tourists in the world & Indians rank second & now i know why!!

Similar to the survey, i found that most Indians who are in big groups especially (well most of them go around in groups) are loud, that is talk in high decibels disturbing everybody around them. They seem to lack the basic etiquette, in that they talk loudly on their cell phones or amongst themselves, are impolite, when in a group, even if they are aware that one among them doesn't understand a particular local language, they will still not care to talk in a universal language that is english, in spite of being fluent in it.

I live in a place which doesn't have much of an Indian population, so had never come across this before.

I know this is common in India, but what's the point if we (Indians) don't evolve & adopt good things in the course of our travel & international exposure?? If this is the behaviour of the so called educated class, what can we even expect from the not so educated classes in India??

I know that not everybody behaves this way, i've just written of some of them who do. Sorry if i have offended any body's sentiments here.
