To paint on fabric, you need 100% cotton cloth. The lining material which we use for curtain will serve the purpose.Wash and iron it well.Draw anything you want on the fabric with a pencil which is dark enough for you to see and follow. If you've made a mistake,u can recitify it at this point itself.

You'll also need masking tapes to mark your borders well.Either start from outside to inside or vice versa.Check out which is convinient for you.

Wait for the paint to dry well.

After you've finished your painting, either pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees and bake the cloth with the pattern folded inside or iron for 10-15 mins on the reverse.A table cloth takes anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks.I'm a house wife with one son and we have a hectic life here.If you're free,it won't take this long.

    Happy Painting.

    Dear Triz and Vivbass,

Thanx a lot for appreciating the paintings.I really like to keep my paintings bright. South Africa is really rich with artists who specialize in designing fabric art. It's fantastic what u get to c there.I've so many South African friends here in Malawi also.South Africa is 2 hrs by flight from here. But that is one country where u c many forms of art and it's really fantastic. There is another form of art called Millifiorie. It's a clay art where you can make beads for a necklace, handles for ladles, candle holders etc.Polymer clay is used for this.Look at the pics below.I'VE NOT MADE THOSE.But these are the things I want to make more of.I specialise only in fabric paints at the moment.I've small stuff which I'll slowly bring out once I've finished showing my fabric painting collections.

There is also ribbon art where u stich ribbons into rose shapes and make various things out of it.Some hobbies are expensive some are cheap.

I want to learn so many things but time does not permit me to do what I want to do.Any questions you need to ask I shall certainly help you with it.

But I'll keep you all posted with my other paintings as well.

    Keep in touch.

    Cioa for now.

    Asha:)

    Hi Asha,

I did so enjoy looking at the various designs. You are very very good.

Though I am lacking in the patience dept to try any such thing, nothing prevents me from enjoying them. So--Keep Posting.

btw I cannot see a bigger picture even when I click on the thumbnail. Why is it so?

    Regards,

    Abha.

    Hi! Abha,

Thanx for your appreciative mail. I really don't know why u can't c a bigger pictures. It really beats me.

Yes,a lot of patience is involved in fabric painting. It gets a bit tedious. But it relaxes me a lot. When I'm painting,I'm so much involved in it,I request my hubby and my son to bear with me becoz I can't give them much time.Once I start,if there is a lot of shading involved,I can't leave it till I finish that area of shading. So I do it in on and off.I start one, finish it and then take a break.

Very soon I'll get back with other paintings of mine.

How's B'lore.I was born and brought up in B'lore. Now in Africa.

    Keep in touch.

    Regards,

    Asha:)
