I just noticed that there might be a few grand mothers in our forum. Wanted to start this thread so they can band together!

If you are a grandmother, introduce yourself here. If there are enough topics to discuss, we can start a sub-forum for grand mothers.

    Dear Friends,
Let me introduce myself as a grand-mom of 4 lovely grand children
    Prarthana (Thanu)
    Manasvini (Ranju)
    Krishna(Krish)
    Aditya (Adit).

Prarthana is an M B A graduate from Great Lakes & is working for EID-Parry.
Manasvini is in her final year of BISM & Is preparing for MBA entrance.
Krish is in 9 th std, believe me, already a six footer like V.
Adit is the pampered baby of the family.

My grandchildren are my best critics & very often harsh & heartless with their comments !

Thanu & Ranju comment that I have changed a lot after joining I L - hopefully for the better, I pray, they mean ! There is nothing that I don't discuss with them & we are more friends. We try not to involve my daughter Ruby in our conversation because very often I go "bindas" with Thanu & Ranju & Ruby is a prim & proper madam !
Krish & adit enter the house asking, "What pudding today" ?
I am going through the most enjoyable phase of life, without responsibilities(their parents are there for that) & thrive only on their love & affection !

    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear C,

    First and frank as usual.

Though I have a long way to go, I sure hope that I will make a jolly old granny to my grandkids.

How in the world did I miss this thread?:)

It is not for nothing that Induslady is The Induslady...your ideas are brilliant, as always:) Thanks for providing a forum for the privileged few:))

Okay, now its my turn. I too am a proud grandma. I also hope to have a lot of fun with my little ones, God willing.

We have two precious grandkids and they are grand!
Jay is turning 4 next week! Jay Kiran. He is really fourteen when he talks and makes all those twists and turns with his eyes, hands and body. A monster truck and cars enthusiast, he does not and cannot think of anything beyond vehicles, never mind what type. His ambition is to become a garbage truck driver, of course with a Harvard schooling and a doctor's degree like his grandpa!
Mira is all of seven months! Mira Leena. She can sit now. She does her best to talk and soon will be eating rice and dhal cooked by me! This time round, I plan to be clever and introduce her to rasam and spices as soon as I can. I want at least one of them to have the same enjoyment for our south Indian food like me. She is so cuddly cute and has me mesmerized that I even dream of her:)

I can go on and on and on. But I will stop and spare you all:)

    L, Kamla

This, certainly is a nice thread! I am a grandmom too! Got my promotion as one in 1996. My grandson, Vikram is nearly 11 now. 1st grand-daughter, Sindhu is 8 and the littlest one, Veena is 4.
Both my daughters live in the US. And, when they visit during summer - oh boy! It is really very, very enjoyable - the funny and witty things they say, the cute expressions on their faces[even when they cry!], the consideration they show grandma and grandpa, the efforts they make to talk in Tamil, the wonderful songs they sing.....I could go on and on.
Thank you, God, for those little ones!
    Regards,
    SubhaD

    Will be Patti soon!

    Dear ILites,
Just wanted to share the good news that I will soon become a Patti in May .I am leaving to Philadelphia on 16th March to assist my daughter Subha's delivery.I read that you are planning to celeberate IL's 3rd Anniv in a great way.Sounds very interesting but I am sorry that I will not be able to participate as I will be away then.It would have been nice to see many of the new IL faces now that IL has grown!Anyways you all have a good time and enjoy and post a lot of pics.
I guess that once the baby comes my hands will be full and I will not be able to visit IL regularly......and that means a time for a break.Ofcourse will let you all know if its a Petti or Peran !!!!
    HAVE FUN...YOU ILITES....HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!:wave
