Hiall,
Does anybody live in Hosepet in Karnataka?
What is it, a city or a town?
Developed or developing ?
Good schoolers for little kids to have a healthy environment in or just a tourist spot?
How far is it from Bengaloru?

Hello Gayathri, Hosapet is a fairly large town with good educational facilities. I dont live there, but my uncle used to live some 5 years ago. Its about 8 hours away from Bangalore (approx 400-450 km) Please wait for others for inputs about present school conditions.

Hi Gayathri,
Hi Gayathri,

My father worked in Hospet ( Hosapete ) for a couple of yrs. I would categorise it as a small-medium sized city. In recent times, it has gained popularity due to its iron ore mines / deposits around the city. I understand there are a couple of industries ( mostly iron / steel based i guess ) .
It is about 15kms from the world renowned - UNESCO heritage city of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Hampi. And Hosapete itself houses the TB Dam and the city is surrounded by a quite a few historical places. So as you said , yes , it is a hub to tourists as well.
About schools i'll check with my father and get back to you soon.

Tk care

hello gayathri,

Hospet is my home town. Hospet was very good a couple of years ago, but as said by haripriyan it dusty dirty,it is all due to the iron ore, once it was good because they use to take only ore but the demand for ore powder has made it red dust everwhere. As for schools they are lots but if you compare the standard is fine.if more i can give you information later.
