    Hi Ladies,

I have one query, I'm suffering for stomach pain since last month & stomach pain occured whenever i drink milk. My hubby asked the pharmist & she said this might be due to lectose intolerance. But i never had this problem before until last mth.

Anybody know any remedies???? Every morning after i drink milk within 5 mints i get stomach pain:cry: & gone after i drink tea or something.

    Any advice will be appreciated.

    Dear Cheer,

It could be lactose intolerence or somthing else. Lacotse intolerence is due to the lack of the enzyme Lactase in the body which is need to digest Milk and Milk products. Now this stomach pain may be due to Lactose intolerence or it could be something else( like plain Cows Milk intolerence or a Gastric Irritable Bowel , conditions where the symptoms are similar to Lactose Intolerence). Are you getting the pain for any Milk product you take( icecream, yogurt, cheese etc..) or is it just only with milk.

You might want to go to the doctor to get it checked out. He will do some blood tests to figure out the problem. Please do get it checked ASAP.

    Hi Cheer!

Some time back i had done a little bit of reading on lactose intolerance.

As far as i can recollect, it was mentioned that some people might have a problem when milk is taken by itself, the body may be unable to break it up into enzymes to aid in digestion. Bu the same people when they took milk along with coffee or tea did not have any problems.

One suggestion would be, if your taking cold milk, try warming it & if your taking whole milk u can try switching to 2% reduced fat or fat free milk & see if this helps.

This just a suggestion, am not sure if this will really make a difference in your case, as each person's body reacts differently.

    Cheers!
    Ragini.
