Dear Shyamala, Welcome to IL & my forum!!
You have nicely turned the table against me!! I have given a lime pickles made with pressure pan - you should have tried it!!
Now, heartlessly or mercilessly simply "junk" the bowl of pickles!

Do come home with your 2 boys. I would love to meet you too.
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Chithumma, My Dear,

Wish you and yours a very very happy pongal with my virtual Khoa.

Yes. It is getting done. Looking forward to prepare one of the hundreds of your khoa recipes with that and ofcourse, awaiting 'khoa poli'...

    And a question, too...

Some time back, I had tindora(our kovaikaai) fry in a restaurant. It had some content like 'balls of parupu usili' but very very soft and so tasty. What could be that? Besan something? I couldn't figure out but it had a tinge of some paruppu.

    Love you, Chithumma...

    Dear C

I have one silly doubt - why do you insist one-whistle sambar cooked in PP as is and rasam inside a vessel?

    Thanks in advance,
    Gayathri.

    potluck

    Hello,
I am planning to have a potluck dinner at my place. Around 25 adults and 10 kids. What kind of menu would be best for a group of this size. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Indian flower

    Chithramma,

You are very kind:) I checked with DH before I could reply. Sadly he says right now he cannot promise... that means I can take it as 'no' from him:coffee. Tomorrow he is in Tirupathi and week-end in Bangalore. He leaves on Tuesday morning. I'll better wait until June. I think more than anything he is hesitant to meet you as he does not know you at all.. no problem:). Thank you Chithramma.

    Sago upma- diaster help needed

    Hi,

I tried making sago upma after a very long time.I followed the recipe which suggested like soaking the sago for 15 mins in boiling water and draining them etc etc.. but to my utter diaster today also my sago upma was clinging together as a mass but not as bad as before. Is it something wrong with the sago i purchased or method of making?

Please suggest some tips. I have a jar of sago left.. and use it sparingly while grinding batter for kushboo idlly.

    Regards
    Vani

Re: Tips required to break jaggery

Lakshmi, I just scrape off jaggery blocks available here. You can take a knife and scrape shavings of jaggery.. If its too big of a piece you can do it 2-3 times. I have seen by doing this jaggery mixes well with sambars and curries I make using jaggery. Good Luck.
