Sri Sadai Udaiyar temple is located amidst paddy fields in Therku pappankulam village, 3 kms away from Kallidaikurichi station in Tirunelveli dt, en route Manimuthar. Here the deity passes on from the female side of the family as well as the male side. The Brahmins have their men go to this temple and the harijans have their ladies come there. Ponnunchadachi, the goddess Rajarajeswari is said to have assisted child birth in midst of a forest to a woman on the way to her father's home. Rajarajeswari is along with Bala Sastha, who is a jadathari and with a dhandam. There are Bhadrakali, Kriya sakthi,Vinayagar along with Kaaval deivams who are powerful-Periya Madasamy (Veerabhadrar), Nallamadan ( Bhairavar), and Chinna Madasamy (Agora Veerabhadrar). the prasdam is raw rice (kaapu arasi) and the women of this family don't have to wear Kaapu..The neem leaves are alone enough.. Anybody here in this family? My wife belongs to Harikesanallur and hence I ahve the honour of going to this temple.

    hi,

what you said is correct. My father is in kallidaikurichi now. He is going regularly to the temple for himself and for others also. For safe delivery, we can pray this deity before our delivery.

    Regards,

    raji

Hi I am from this Family.
I saw the name Sadai vudaiyar temple & was happy to know about it. I am from the close by Village Kizha Ambur. I am born and brought up in Tirunelveli. My husband also got the opportunity to go to this temple through me so every time he goes there he thank my father for being in the family. Its so nice know...
I have a great experience during two of my pregnancies. During delivery i didnot get normal pain and doctor adviced me to pray well to sadaiudaiyaar. (she knows about Him very well). it was a timely reminder my mom did not tie up 25np coin in yellow cloth alongwith rice & jaggery. the moment she did it my pain started shooting up and within 5 minutes doctor said i can deliver normally. In my second delivery i had lost my mom by then (cruel nature) so the doctor took all initiative & did all those for me. They all expected that I will die after delivery as I had more complications & arranged for the operation. their plan was to do the normal delivery and then do the operation for me. but by his grace all the complications vanished. my pressure was normal after delivery & all came under control. so they postpond the operation. The doctor being our family friend she was lik my mom at that time & made decisions.

I think i am taking a long time speaking about my experiences. let me hear from others too. any one there????

Experiences with the temple are manifold...And if you believe in Miracles, this is the experience. You are right...Sri Rajarajeswari, as Ponnuncahadachi (Golden Haired) delivered of a woman in labour in the form of a harijan lady. The whole lot of kizhambur belongs to the temple. i am enclosing the picture of Sri.Chinnamadan, since ladies arenot allowed to visit the temple..Keep the photo with all piety. No harm will come to you.

If you feel sentimental about that...it's not ok..If you don't..that is ok too.

    4 days in Tirunelveli!

2 days were spent in Palamadai, visiting Chepparai, Udayaneri Perumal koil, sparking in me, the commitment the people had in for the temple maintainence. Chepparai had been sand blasted and has a few visitors and looks fresh, Udayaneri is a small and beautiful temple. Pity, the archakas are paid Rs.15 per month and one bag of paddy to maintain the puja. Perumal has no flowers to be decked on!.

The third day was in Kottaram our family deity and then driving past Manapadai veedu (where a Beautiful Perumal temple, is devoid of worship!)
and Kizhnatham enroute to Manimuthar falls, with a visit to Sadai Udaiyar Temple...No water at the falls but lot of monkeys! The forest department collects Rs.15 per person, and Rs.30 per car and the they horribly maintain the place-full of plastica and a toilet-God forbid!

Then we took off to Papanasam dam- boating upto Banatheertham and a good bath that refreshed us. Down the drive a visit to Sorimuthu Ayyanar koil, a lovely setting and a lot of litter! AND then back to Agasthiyar falls, for a 6pm bath-no crowd!

The fourth day visit was to Ammainathar koil on the banks of tamirabarani-we were the only people in the temple-and to Thirunangkoil-for a good saturday Dharisanam of Perumal- Huge hillock and The river flowing beneath the hillock!
