I wanted to share what my son said to me the other day. It really touched my heart deeply. I am sure all of you ILites have had such emotionally moving moments too.

“Motherhood’s a tough 24-hour job. Amma, you are always there for us, anticipating our every need and making every day of our lives go by smoothly. Many a time we just take you for granted and don’t even spare a few words of appreciation, caught up as we are in our own world. What would we do without you? Amma, you are the BEST”.

To me, there are priceless words, beyond compare.

But then ‘AMMA’ (I am referring to ‘LokaMata Parashakthi’) tirelessly looks after the countless wants and demands of all Her children with an ever-smiling face, we mere mortals must learn to be selfless too, this will bring everlasting Bliss.

    Padma,

Rarely does one see a post like this, one that conveys streams of affection in few words. I echo Cheeniyasir that you are the latest 'IL sensation'.Also loved your other pieces on the nine yards saree, multi tasking and especially your chant in Namasmaranam,' Nivastu Hrudi Baala'.

Deepak's words must have made your day, every day. Kamla once said that once you are a Mother, that is all you are. That is one loss of identity that all women (me most included) would truly love and yearn to have. You have gone beyond that, mothering a son, DiL and a grandson to perfection.

Mom, amma, Ibu, Ammachi- whatever we call her, she is always there for us, ten months before we are born and even get a self. She hugs, kisses, spanks, scolds, smiles, sacrifices and even keeps silence just to protect her child.

My mom is my rock and pillar. If only I followed her advice, I would be a happier woman. A couple of years back, I made an unwise friend. Mom disapproved, warned me one, twice, thrice. Three times, I spurned her words. Today, the friend has got me into endless grief, and guess who is here to hold my hand- but mom. With never a word,'I told you so'.

And there you are so right about our Loka Matha. Not a blade would move without Her shakti. She is there for us always, keeping us in action, enabling us, empowering us. Sri Mathre Namaha!

    regards
    Vidya

its touching scene and words definitly.:thumbsup.......that too from a boy ,generally boys never express freely their emotions as openly as girls...
so must u must be feeling very happy about this.
as our friends said there would be no replacement to a mother, hope every child would take care of their parents when in need....

    Dear Mindi,

Thanks for your heartening fb. Yes, whether or not our children express it in so many words, there are times when a simple look of hug conveys all their feelings. You will hear the words one day and remember me!

    Dear Vidya,

Your choice of words and expressions took my breath away. In the process of 'losing one identity' we are blessed with many many 'avatars', each more fulfilling than the other. Rest assured that DeviMaa never fails and your yearning will become a reality not too long in the future.
True, a mother's intuition rarely fails, she is wise enough to accept the fact that one's first-hand experience is a better teacher than the advice or pointers given by her.

Your fb really touched the core of my being, I really loved it, thank you so very much.

    Dear Shashi,

So true, boys feel quite embarassed to express themselves but I think the younger generation is more open about their feelings. Nowadays, the relationship between children and their parents is more like a friend. This change is something that I really appreciate. I'm sure the inherent love and affection of children for their parents will come to the fore in times of need.

    Thanks you for your fb,

    Padma

    Dear Padmaji,

I would say you are lucky to hear this from your son, I haven't yet told this to my mom inspite of me thanking her 100 times in my heart, I will do it today itself, I hope every son or daughter does this, parents don't even ask for this. I simply loved your post. Thanks for this eye opener.

    Love,
    Jelaja

    Where OM ends MA begins
The first face I saw was of yours MA
The first feed I had was yours MA
The first time I walked was holding you MA
The first time I feared I’d fall you held MA
The first word I said when I could was MA
The first wound of mine you dressed and cured MA
The first day of school you cried with me too MA
The first time you fought with the neighbours for me you were so strong MA

The first time I won you screamed with joy MA
The first grey hair of yours I pulled out MA

    Dear Padma

Only thing i would like to say is " You are very lucky" , and its always very nice to hear acknowledgment in any matter thatoo straight from the heart, but not all are blessed with such words

As, Jelaja said, even i have not told this to my mom, and yet to receive such words from my son too....long way to go, hope in the future i ay get those words from my only son and hope i will also act accodring to it, and i have to admit that, IAM NOT A VERY FRIENDLY MOTHER SINCE I CANT BE VERY FRIENDLY ALONE ALL THE TIME, ALMOST I WILL BE LIKE A TEACHER OR PREACHER ....hahahha so my DS keeps me in distance , i feel that only i can teach him though it may sounds harsh , but i dont want any other third persons to cmment on him about anything , i dont know iam right or not
