    hi ,

Anyone who has an idea about Khadi silk? Where can I buy them with good designs in b'lore or Mysore area. I have heard the regular silk sarees which they make out by killing silk worms by adding them in boiled water even thought they have a short lifecycle ....people do forcibly kill it. Where as Khadi silk which is also called as the Ahimsa silk has been there for several yrs ( Gandhji) was promoting more of it. So far I had not learnt the differnce so now that I know if anyone of you are also willing to change or already who have changed wearing Ahimsa silk pls do write to me as I really want to support and feel good about myself wearing the Ahimsa one. WE the younger generation have to be more Aware of it. kindly help me out.

    Hi,

why don't try Khadi gradmodyog stores in Bangalore to buy khadi silks. it is govt. khadi industry stores where you get from silks, cottons, pickles, honey, carpets, etc.... etc... In bangalore you have several stores across the city. why don't you buy plain khadi silk and get it embrioderied. it looks good.

    warm wishes,
    chandana

i bought one plain khadi silk (orange colour) during this season. (20% rebate was there). The texture of the cloth is not so soft and that silky. They said they used to wash the sari after dyeing. I used to do embroidary by myself. Planning to stitch kamal embroidary flowers on it.
    with love and regards

    Hi

Nice to know that u have the same ffeling of ahimsa i have. For my marriage i annouced my family that i wont wear silk. They said if i find some alternative they will accept. So i searched a lott and found Ahimsa silk made by rajaiah from hydrabad. He makes silk sarees with the same coons after the moth perios so its 100% vegetarian.I have four sarees he have decent collections and colours too.I love to wear those sarees.

Can you please let me know where to buy those Ahimsa silk sarees in Chennai? Also, do you have any idea about Jute silk? Do they contain silk in it? What about silk cotton materials?
