    Hi ChitVish madam,
I prepared Pesaruttu for breakfast since there is a demand for idli rice in US .It turned out excellent :thumbsup.
For lunch I prepared MasoorDhal rice. This is the first time I'm using Masoor Dhal. All finished.I need to look for other recipes of Masoor Dhal.
BTW I looked up in internet for cooking soda.Looks like its same as Baking powder used for making cakes.I'm going to try Rava Idli for Sunday morning breakfast.Wish me luck...
    Thanks
    Mangai

    ,
    Dear J M,
Yes, survival of the fittest! If idli rice is not available, learn to make other recipes!
There is a masoor dhal dosai as well, please see.
As far as I know, cream of tartar is added in baking soda. But, do try & write back. It will help others!
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Dear Mami,
    Namaskarams,
Y'day for dinner i made pulka's and Aloo paratha with raitha.
I made the pulka's and the parathas in The Roti maker. In the beggining ( 2.3) came little dry. Then i mixed little water again to the dough and made the chapathi's and paratha. it was soooooooo soft and till morning it is soft. Again now for lunch i made few pulka's ( just to get used to the roti maker) got it very soft.:clap ALL THANKS TO YOU ONLY:bowdown:bowdown:bowdown. WITHIN NO TIME I MADE AND CLEANED THE PLACE.My 3 friends also got this now & he gave rs. 75 discount.
Now i have to try the poli's.
    :thankyou2::thankyou2:& regards,
    v.k.

    Dear VK,
The dough has to be really soft - essential. Use att kneader attachment if you have it.
It takes a little practice like anyother gadget - you will settle down in no time.
May be you can think of a FP next for atta kneading!! :)
    Love,
    Chithra.

    Hello Mami,
Two very sweet FBs :) It was my mama's 50th bday and had a family get to. So it was a good excuse to make carror burfi :D Everyone liked it a lot. Lovely color bcoz of the carrots and very nice taste. Surprise of surprises, even my daughter ate couple of pieces!! I took it off the flame correctly, but slightly overdid the stirring part after that. So it looked like it was getting a little hard. But my dad immediately cut it into pieces and they dint break. Texture and taste etc was all perfect.

Also, there are too many apples lying in the fridge thanks to the navarathri visits! Made apple ice cream and it is absolutely delicious. Awesome. Very creamy, some grated apple pieces in between. Love it.

    Cheers,
    Nithya
