Did you order this one? I’m planning to buy this.. please let me know if you like it.

I was using Swiffer wet mop all these years! It smells so fresh and amazing but ofcourse not economical in the long run.

Yes exactly the same. Yet to receive the order and will update you once I receive.

I have used this swifer one earlier at my apartment. I got two packs and then felt it's so expensive for refills and just stopped using it. And used some cloth refills on it.
Do you use wet tissue and followed by dry tissue every time?

Then the floor will be very wet right? Do you use any cloth or tissue to wipe that off or it dries with ceiling fan on?

@gknew - congrats on the new home! How exciting!!! What floors do you have? I have nail down hard wood and I can’t let water sit on it. I take the cleaning lady to task when she mops with a ton of water. Steam vacs are a no no for my floors. I do use Bona and swiffer. I have a Dyson for vacuuming. It’s my second one. Love it. Any of the versions will do! I do have the mop that you just bought. Love it because you can dry it really well and mop. We should only use it on our wood maybe once a month but we have high traffic and it needs the bi-monthly mop. Newer houses have engineered hard wood which can take steam mops and a little more water. Hope that’s the case with your place.
New home = finding a place for a Pooja, finding furniture, making it your own. Enjoy this phase. Plant a tree in your backyard that you pick. I have huge trees so couldn’t get one of mine but recently one of mine dried up and getting my own trees in the back and doing a yard overhaul has been such fun! My dad always said plant trees in whichever house you go to, be it your own or rental! Even if we don’t enjoy the fruits someone else will. I recently got the chance to visit a childhood home and the new homeowners gave me chickoos and guavas from trees that dad planted. It was the best way to end my trip!

    Thanks for the reply @Laks09.

I see most of you talk about type of hard wood floors. I really don't know how to find what type of hardwood I have. I have to check with the builder about this. I don't know the type of the hard wood.

Which mop do you have? The bucket one or the spray mop?

Really true. It's overwhelming and exhausting to find places and settle it up. I do have health issues which I am struggling to get some relief and finding hard to settle down things at new home.

Finding a place for Pooja is the biggest hustle for me now. DH doesn't like to do Pooja and it's my wish to have a small Pooja cabinet to have my Pooja things and God photos. I am trying to find a small place around the house and he keeps arguing that I shouldn't keep it there. So I am still hunting a place for it.

Reg planting trees, can we really plant trees in the soil in the backyard? I have grasses at backyard and they said they have HOA.

So I assumed we can't plant anything in the soil and I was planning to have some pot and small plants in it. Not trees. Just some flowers and herbs like mint, coriander etc.

I never done gardening in the US before and don't have any idea about it. Just tried mint once in my apartment with a small pot and kept it inside my apartment. That's it. Nothing explored out of the house. I have to see how to plant trees in the backyard. Do you plant trees in the places where you have grasses ? Do you have any pics of your backyard with garden that you can share here? If it's ok to share.

You can check with your HOA if they have any rules about trees. It’s a good idea to situate it away from boundaries with neighbors. In order to plant you just have to cut out a circle of the grass, then make a planting hole filled with good soil and organic matter. Make sure you consider the mature size of the tree when you choose the planting spot.

The bucket one is what works well for the cleaning crew. I have swifer too and use it when I’m doing the cleaning unless the tiles are really messy.

My HOA mandates two trees in the front. It also has to grow into a certain circumference, can’t be small. Backyard is left to us. Each HOA has a different set of rules so do check on them.

You will slowly learn. If you have the interest, its a great way to spend some time outdoors.

I remember the back and forths about what room gets used for what! That’s the beauty of home buying. Enjoy the phase.

Ohh thanks for this info @MalStrom.
May be it's not a good idea to plant big trees?

I will check with hoa for their policies. I will start with a small plant in a pot. I am not very good in gardening and don't know much about it. Very naive on this.
