    I do eat soaked fenugreek too, occasionally Sir. I do have my sugar in check for the past 6 months now :)
    Of late, I see more people advising to eat more fibrous foods. I see that as a sensible suggestion. I have added fruits in my daily menu and use that time to sit together with my family, discuss and share. This also reduced my snack eating. -rgs

    I received the following message in my WhatsApp from MIT group for information and dissemination.
    A University of Houston Texas paper published at the end of 2022 is sparking a wave of interest
    Reducing the level of sugar and insulin in the blood for diabetics after eating by 52% (better than many diabetes medications) with a very simple movement and you do not need to make an effort or take any medications.
    Only by moving a very small muscle located in the calf muscle behind the leg, called the soleus muscle.
    By moving this muscle while you are sitting in your chair and watching TV, the blood sugar level decreases by a large percentage (by half), and this muscle does not suffer any fatigue, even if you continue to move it for long hours.
    One of the advantages of this muscle is that it consumes the glucose present in the blood after eating for energy (Glucose) and not the glycogen stored in the muscles like the rest of the body's muscles.
    Interesting research, and it could be an effective solution for diabetes without the need for drugs, strenuous exercise, and exhausting diets.

    @rgsrinivasan
    Your experience is truly magical. :) Thanks a gazillion for sharing this inspiring experience. Could you please share the details as well? After how many months of walking 9km per day did you lose 9Kg? You said you did not change your food habits in anyway while on this walking exercise. This is superb. So basically more than the food it was the sedentary lifestyle that was the cause of all your ailments, right?

    Thanks @nayidulhan, for your like and for appreciating my efforts.
    I started doing 7 Km a day for the first 2.5 months, which led my HbA1C count to fall from 10+ to 8.2 as revealed by a blood test. I had lost around 3 kg then.

    I cut down my intake of sweets, deep fried snacks and some cream biscuits. Started taking fruits instead for snacking - twice a day - around 11 p.m. and 4 p.m. - apples, guavas, pomegranates and oranges / mozambi fruits at nights about 90 minutes after dinner.

    I made it a habit to walk after every meal - pushed myself harder for 20 min at least on this. I started hitting the 10 km a day milestone after 3 months since I started walking. After 6 months of this effort where I crossed even 12 km mark for 40 days or so, I weighed myself and went for a comprehensive blood check. I have lost 9 kg of weight and my HbA1C is now at 6.3 for the past 6 months. Regarding my weight - I still wish to get slimmer by 4 more kilos. Will try that next.

    Both my fasting blood sugar and PP are well within limits and I wish and intend to keep them that way :) Sedentary lifestyle and more sweets were the reasons for my high sugar levels and overweight. Even now I crave for chocolates and gift myself a piece occasionally.

    Thanks a lot for your insightful reply, @rgsrinivasan. Your hardwork and determination are inspiring. :clap2:

    I am a fan of walking. It is my most preferred form of exercise. So much so that when I am anxious about something, I start pacing the room automatically. :redface:

    Since Walking is the main hero of your fitness story, it is very very appealing to me. Most of the weight loss and fitness stories I have heard and read about almost always talk about Gymming, swimming, etc. I hope I can come back and share with you my success story some day soon.

    Till then, Godspeed to you. May you achieve your weight target and may you continue to control over the blood sugar levels. :number_one:
